I think that Mav is saying that its a joint plus - the Club wants to do it, but can't unless approved as a legitimate payment under salary cap guidlines.

Eddie would love it, but it isn't necessarily his push, but with an arbitrated outcome, hopefully we all win!

But Jordan Russell, and Adam Hartlett are getting the same amounts! And they used to live in Adelaide. A return trip to Adelaide costs a fraction of one to Perth (leaving aside the trip from Perth to where Eddie's parents are living). Wouldn't you be a bit annoyed if you were Eddie that he doesn't at least get the same rights to visits from and to his parents?

Mav are you sure? My mail is that is not correct. Will stand to be corrected.

Rubbernub, you got in before I amended that bit . As I understand the CBA, Carlton would be in breach if it doesn't pay the relocation expense for a first year player, as both Russell and Hartlett are clearly interstate players. So that $6,295 has got to be paid. The other living expense allocation in the same amount is more of a discretionary matter, and there would be some negotation as to whether it would be paid at all, paid in part, or paid in full. So it is possible that they haven't got any of that amount.

But The Vet's summary of what I said is spot on. And so much shorter

By the way, I note that Synbad on a similar thread on CSC said that he thought Eddie was entitled to the payments. He pointed out that he was over here on a scholarship for Aboriginal kids, and was nothing more than a boarder here. The scholarship expired as soon as the TAC season finished meaning he had to return home.

But Mav, it wouldn't have made sense without your grunt work!

Ain't that always the way!

He's only a kid.
He's over the other side of the country from his immediate family and his community of support.
He is on a comparatively low wage (for a footballer).

Have some bloody generosity and give him a bit of assistance. Who knows, a bit of goodwill from the club at this end of his contract and he might return the favour when another club is offering him a better deal when renegotiating time comes again.
