Would be a lovely win.

One constant in this run is our lack of conversion. Miss way too many golden opportunities and leave a lot of goals out there.

Simply won’t get away with that in the final stretch of games.

Fraser is big on fundamentals and this is one we haven’t got right yet.

They have a few injuries. Sure they'll be filthy after last week but so what?

Not sure if I want Watson and Gunston to miss again or for them both be selected and break down before half time.

Gunston was not right yesterday

We are right in this . They are wobbly . Reckon this game will all come down to contested football . Nothing surer than the Hawks will go after Cripps . Time for Sam and Jagga to step up and shoulder the burden so manly carried by our Skipper . He can't go on forever so its time for others to step up . I would bring Cooper Lord in myself . He can give Jai Newcombe the same treatment that Patrick is gonna get . Reckon Newcombe is nearly as important to the Hawks as Patrick is to us . And that's saying something coz we need to wean ourselves from the Patrick Cripps reliance . Must say Patrick is doing a great job when he goes forward .

PS ............. The Unsociable Hawks . What a lot of shit . Soft as butter when they don't get it there way . Cream puffs at heart . Apart from Newcombe who else ? I remember the truly unsociable Hawks when Lethal , Dermie etc etc were running riot . Now that's what you call unsociable .

I think we need both Acres and Dean back for this one, L Young will be out but not sure who could make way for Acres…

It’s been great to have the season back on track and our ledger even, but from this week onwards, the truth will set you free!!!

I think we are a better team winning such a close game. We know areas we need to improve, and we will chase this. We will not be favourites. No expectation.

Watson shouldnt be back given only 7 games before Finals. it’s a tight hammy. Hope he does. We should plan for him.

Newcombe is their heart beat. Hewett is strong enough, tough enough to look after him.

Meeks will beat Pitto easily. I don’t expect stoppage to be one wood in this game. I expect turnover will.

We have to play team defense and team work no 1 priority. I thought we were a bit selfish at times v Tigers, and Byrne showed us he wasn’t. IMO we may have lost clearance but v Tigers it was Cerra Smith Walsh Cripps our mids who created connection between defense and offence.

Who knows what weather will be like this Saturday now winter has finally arrived. Same place. Same time. Repeat. We can win this.

Those easy misses for goal cost us as usual v Tigers. They took their chances with 2 goal turnaround.

In Acres for Hollands/ Cottrell.

I think Fraser will give him a chance to find his feet, but Cottrell is in the gun despite 50 odd one per enters. Hollands was 2 nd most with 30 odd. Interesting.

Dean for Young. Obvious.

Can’t wait.

I would probably drop OllieH for Acres. I think Acres just provides more in both defence and attack.

Acres in for Ison. Unlike Byrne, I don't see Ison providing the forward pressure needed to stop the Hawks D50 run.

Aside from the nice kick to Cera, he was fumbly and lacking in physicality.

I'd go Dean for Young, Acres for Hollands or Cottrell and Moir for Ison.

Hollands probably deserves a second chance coming back. Cottrell though can kick goals and we will need every one.

Imagine if we beat the Hawks. The build up to the next game against Collingwood would be out of this world.

Josh Fraser having guided Carlton to 8 wins on the trot against his old club in Collingwood. Both clubs vying for a finals spot and bragging rights.

But let's not get ahead of ourselves... we need to beat the Hawks first.

A few bad habits crept back in against the Tigers: bombing long instead of the shorter handoff or honouring a good lead.
Some selfish shots from difficult spots rather than short kick within F50.
Lazy handpasses to each others feet.
Easing the pressure too often.
I’m sure Fraser will hone in on this.
And hopefully our goal kicking improves.

Conner Nash is out - only Cripps has more clearances than him and no one at Carlton averages more tackles a game than him .

They have lost 5.5 tackles and 5.6 clearances - that is huge it means one of our midfielders wont get sat on

Hawks midfield is overated . Newcombe is a genuine toughnut . Hardwick also and that's it . Go the bash I say and they will turn it up .

I think so. Walsh in particular looked pissed off after the final siren. Saw a few comments from players that they let themselves down and weren't happy with things too.
