Surprised at the negativity. Thought we were much harder at it & confident in ourselves than last week.

You've got to give a bit if credit to Melbourne for the last quarter. It wasn't just because we were shit, they are a damn good footy team & were always going to come at us.

I liked Kemp's game a lot. Cincotta too.

Sensed a tight finish when the Dees started to chip away at our 38 point lead in the 3rd.

However when l saw Voss’s face just before 3 Qtr time l thought we’d get rolled.

Your angle is deceiving. Ball was in. Right call. Horrible defending.

Yep. Syd, I reckon the ball is off the ground in your picture. The side angle shows it was easily in. Our blokes just assumed it was going through, a poor judgement call that almost cost the game. I was apoplectic.

Opposite to the Geelong last qtr where we come late from 5 goals down with not long to go. Not that different from the EF from last year either. We seemed to have forgotten the structures in this situation we had learned so well. Needs relearning.

A couple will be better for the run. Hopefully, as we peak, we can keep our high pressure game going without fatiguing.Took half a year last year. We were out on our feet last night.

Go figure.

1 point win from 46 points down/1 point win from 40 points up

Exactly!
So when we win Grand Final, it will feel better if it is a come from behind win :smoking:
Go Cardiac Carlton!

Gee I thought pitto was good. You can just tell that Gawn hates playing against him.

If you're talking about Cripps, then it was a terrible decision to assume it was going over.

I love that Pitto made Gawn spit his dummy a couple of times.

just a query - did anyone think, going into the final quarter, that we wouldnt blow the lead? this club has scarred me so badly

We were 26 points up with 10 minutes left, I honestly thought we were safe then. And 19 points up with less than 4 minutes, no one loses from that position in this day and age. And yet... it really would have been the most humiliating defeat in living memory.

Remember we lost to Adelaide letting them kick 3 in the last 5 mins or so.

we have been unable to run out games since we went tall.

when he left, we stopped all our run. all the attention went back into walsh, cripps, hewett and kennedy are in close bulls, not run and carry and spread.

cerra's hammies are starting to look like gov's, or martin's calf. pencil them in to miss 5-10 games a season on them. it's crazy, really.

the collapse at the end ... woke up feeling like we'd lost.

the 4 points are vital, so very grateful for that, but yeah. can't shake the feeling of a loss. maybe it's bcos of cerra's injury, i dunno.

Hollands getting run down at the edge of the centre square with 15m of space was crucial. 2 players free inside 50. Game would have been over.
He had a good game but gets caught too often when initially free.

We played the last 12 min with only Harry or TDK outside D50. Once the ball came out to a 2 on 1 , it just rebounded straight back. Have to stop allowing opposition set up the defensive wall. My kids dealt with that in U12s

If we'd never led by more than 2-3 goals you'd be happy.
Totally this! To me, it felt like we simply tried to hang on and not lose from about 10 minutes to go in the third, it felt way too cautious from that point on.
Needed to be a bit bolder and try to win the game, instead of not lose it.
