I definitely recall seeing the 3 big boys in the forward 50 together on multiple occasions

De Koning had 30 minutes in the forward line. Targeted once.

Well said.

These selections are a bit baffling.
Not sure what Binns has to do to get a game.
Too tall and slow.

We lose a game by inches and all of a sudden the club doesn’t know what it’s doing

The second half of 2023 must have been taken over by a bunch of sadomasochists then.

Maybe Pitto will be a late out?

Mmmmm... A possibility, maybe a wish.

Agree that we look a little slow and tall. We looked that way against the Crows, and their clear instructions were to run through zones at all or any cost..... It worked most of the time and made us look even slower.

Fast deck and a team that likes to run on.... It will be interesting to see how we set up and counter how they will play

Go Blues

Perhaps if Million Dollar Tom didn’t just park himself in the hole, he might get a few looks?

Two weeks ago we played freo with one ruck and should have been beaten

Our issue is not a ruck issue.

Like freo, Adelaide kept possession very well and cut through our zones. It stymied our ability to turn over. It made us look slow. As Voss has said we are learning and we are building.

The sky isn’t falling.

Yes London….

the Crows did all that…and yet…they still had
to kick 3 goals in 5 minutes to win…!

you’re right…the sky isn’t falling…!

kindest regards tommi

So just to confirm, you're comparing a last gasp win against an undefeated team on neutral ground to a loss against a winless side on our home deck? A team that had lost 8 of its last 10 home games?

It's not that difficult. Yes "Adelaide kept possession very well and cut through our zones." Because we didn't pressure them exiting our front half. Our turnover game comes from our forward line. Where the ruckman rests.
We went from number 1 turnover team in the AFL to average in 1 game. We averaged 19 forward 50 tackles and had 24 against Freo. (More than double the AFL average). We had only 11 inside 50 tackles against Adelaide and 7 of their goals originated from our forward line.
We can only present the facts. If you refuse to see a correlation, it's your choice.

These mob scored, like, eleventy billion goals direct from turnover last week. Hoping we are back on our pressure game because we look pretty tall.

I’m not disputing facts, that’s your story and not a fact.

My point is we are learning and adjusting. Fact - this is what Voss has shared on a number of occasions.

Based on what we have achieved over the last 20 odd games I’m happy to go with his view……full respect of the facts and your point of view.

I’m a positive guy and believe in those that are running the ship.

I’m a bit torn.
We definitely looked slow against the Crows.
But also, we did not bring the pressure that we usually do. It is possible that our pressure was off because we were too slow but It equally felt like we just thought we’d win and took our foot off the gas. And even then, we should really have nailed a 4-5 goal win from where we were with 10 minutes to go. To say nothing of their unusual accuracy.

Given the team we have named, I’d hope that we completely bully them around stoppages and get the ball out quickly to fast players on the outside.

And our targets up forward must spread their defenders.
And our forwards must swarm!
