I think we install snickos on all players to take this out of the game.

Acres would need a snicko body suit made up

I dunno, the suggestion that play continues if the ball bounces back off the post is up there.

I stand corrected

I've heard people suggest that it should be a goal if it goes between the sticks regardless of who or what touched it last. Mostly from dirty foreigners (the British).

One coach gave Young 5 and the other coach gave him 0 ?

If my calculations are right two of Clark, Weitering and Curnow got 4 from one coach and zip from the other too.

Last time I saw him around these parts he was recovering from his own out of bounds on the full…

I reckon Vossy gave Clark 4 for the dissent…

You triggered my nerd reflex so I pulled out the pen and paper and decided the breakdown had to be:

Brayshaw 5 + 3
Young 0 + 5
Weitering, Curnow, Clark: two got 4 + 0, the other 2 + 2
Serong: 3 + 0
Aish: 1 + 0
Ryan: 0 + 1

Each coach only selected one Carlton player!

New footage shows that Matt Cotterell was infringed upon as he went for the mark, so even if the ball was touched (which it was, twice by Aish and once by the defender), he would have been awarded a free kick due to the defender making contact over the shoulder as he punched the ball (into Cotterell’s hands).

Captain's challenge followed by a captain's rebuttal?

Thats it Sin . All this talk we were lucky is complete and utter frogshit . Freo had plenty of chances to put us away and ice the game but they didn't coz they weren't good enough .

Conspiracy theories about the AFL and umpiring (on other sites) hitting Marjorie Taylor Greene levels.
Not sure why mistakes can’t ever just be mistakes any more - they have to be deliberate evil.
Umpires must be getting increasingly fed up with the childish abuse. And I don’t blame them.
Personally grateful we have umpires at afl and local leagues … wonder how long before social outrage just turns people off starting on that journey and local clubs can’t get people to umpire anymore…

Well said Arny . A top notch post . I used to be involved in junior and local football going back a few years and it was hard even in those days to get umpires and its a damn site harder now coz of the shit they cop . Simpletons are killing the goose that laid the golden egg . Thankfully from what i am hearing there is a lot of work going on in that area in the local comps.
Good on you Arnhem Blues for raising a very good point . It is crucial to attract and retain umpires if this great game is to survive .
