He is 4 years younger played the same amount of games and kicked more goals.

I am a Martin fan wouldn't like to see him go

Is Silvagni capable of recruiting anyone not from a club he’s previously worked at?

According to The Age today, Carlton are chasing Will Hayward from the Swans, and clubs are circling Martin who is out of contract. Thoughts? I'd be inclined to say "see you later" to Martin, 29yo and we all know his injury history.

I like Martin, there’s not many players like him. I wish he was fit far more often (obviously) but if we could get him at the right price for another couple of years….hes the sort of player that wins you a final.

Hayward would frustrate a lot of our supporters, another that goes missing for chunks of the game.

Where as Martin frustrates our supporters by going missing for chunks of the season (yet again).

Who is the best mid sized forward in the state leagues? That’s who we need at the mid season draft. Can’t rely on Martin. JSOS also not an option. Moir not yet ready. Give them a 6 month contract and then reassess come end of the year.

You will need to add Cerra, McGovern, SDurdin (has he ever played), Motlop, etc......

Get a grip people.

Cerra’s played 46 out of 54 games since he came to the club.

Not sure why you’d add him to a group of perennially injured.

Probably more likely to find a Kennedy/EHollands type.

Pull your head out of your arse, Jim. He’s playing half forward & that one pace goes at a higher clip than 90% of the comp.

We need some significant changes at years end. Desperately need pace and better users across the ground.

Not sure how we achieve it with a tight cap but we’ve built a list to win based on a game plan relevant 5 years ago.

Recent recruitment has done little to address the above.

The problem is we have to many light frames that get brushed aside to easily.
It ok having a few light body players but they need to be exceptionally quick and skilled.
Ours are neither.
We come across big bodied sides like the Swans and they ragdoll us.
Then it's left to Cripps to try fill the void

One of the things Sydney have done well is recruit a midfield that is dynamic
Rowbottom is a plodder but a good one
The rest are dynamic
Sure Gulden was an academy
Heeney is from NSW
Papley Haywood Warner are non NSW so other clubs could have got them

5 to 8 years ago we missed on our mids at the draft
It has cost us and we have played catch up
Hewett and Kennedy are serviceable
Cerra is quality
Of course Walsh is a gun
Cripps is an inside beast as we know but their all plodders
Acres as well
All good players but they get exposed by pace and being dynamic
Stood out last night
Chad Warner was pick 39 from East Freo
That is great recruiting

Both Hollands boys don’t have pace
Sydney broke even last night at stoppage and contested possession
Destroyed when the ball was in the open
Still our biggest issue
