We hate it hey….

that bloody sound they make when they’re cocky
and in front…well…it’s our turn…!

it’s tough not getting to the games these days…
so starting a charnt like the old Fevola one is
a bit difficult…!

but hey…lets try something…!

I’ve had an idea…!

our black and white friends have managed to
turn a three syllable word…into four…just so they
can fit it into their song…from memory…”wood”
is one syllable…dick…heads…!

a few years back we had a sticker that said…
“We are Carlton”…well…there it is…simple as that…
four syllables…and it comes out perfectly…!

can you hear it…nice and slow…?

”WEEE ARRRRRE CARRRRL-TOOON….
WEEE ARRRRRE CARRRRL-TOOON”…

yup…not just a random word…but a statement…it’s
who we are…”We…Are…Carlton”…!

so what I’m saying is…if anyone hangs near the
cheer squad….or if there’s a group of you…start it
up folk…it won’t take long to go around the ground…!

if we’re leading…people will latch on in a flash…
just make sure it’s not too fast…it has to be slow…
like a war cry…!

come on baggers…we need one…the Colon-woods didn’t
invent the charnt…they don’t own it…!

try it out in your head…tell your kids…they’ll love
it…lets go Blue boys…!

For those more musically minded than me like your good self Tommi, can we get a chant that includes... -Jesaulenko you beauty -Teddy Hopkins -Harmes.. Sheldon in the square and even - Sheuy.. From the boundary... They seem to have nice musical rings to them.. (any I've missed? ) Go Blues!

Unfortunately it needs to be simple enough for anyone to follow with out stuffing it completely up. So the opening notes of non racist Lily of laguna as suggested or something like baaaaggers would work. There used to be a nhl team that were sponsored by a pizza place and you'd get a free pizza if they won by a certain amount. The place would rock when the reached the margin and the place would rock with pizza, pizza, pizza. 1995 Grand Final. Silvagni kept Gary Ablett goal-less which generated a couple of chants near us... "Gooooooaaaaaaalllless Gaaaaaarrrrrrreeeeeeeee!" and in deference to the rendition of "Living Next Door to Alice", this one made a heap of noise and got repeated again when we beat them at Kardinia park the following year... "Ablett, Ablett, who the F-%$# is Ablett?" in 1987, when Rhys-Jones totally neutralised Dermott Brereton, we had hundreds chanting... "Dermie takes it up the A-%$#, do-daah, do-daah, Dermie takes it up the A-%$# We've won the Flag today!" However for 'general' purposes I volunteer a simple... "NAVEEEEEEE BLUUUUUUEEEEESSSSS"

Seventy 2…. nice to see you…how about our team hey… gee whizz…! glad you like the charnt thoughts…! there are many ideas…but again…it has to be a simple one…can’t be to wordy…that’s not a war cry… I mean what did Mr Wallace and his horse riding drunks yell in their quest for Independence…? pretty sure it was something along the lines of… “ROARRRRRRRRRRRRR”…! I’m sure the…”colling-wobbles” thing was fine Friday night…but it’s a bit “niche”…! Agreed. Could try and start it ...one feeble little voice st the Saints match. A sort of Ann Elk 'eh hem' cough before of course. But at least it will then be out there. I think it could work. Hopefully some other TC'ers will join in. Very sad reading you can no longer attend live? Us that set in stone? Ps. Always fabulous reading your work on here Master T.
