If Walsh is fit you 110% put him straight in, I can't believe this is even being debated.

Acres looking to smother the handball there. How is that classed as suspendable?

Let him heal from the shoulder knocks. We should be able to cover him and win..................... I hope.

Bring him back, with Walsh, for the Adelaide game.

His back has to be able to withstand a potentially hard, direct hit - once it is ticked off on that front I'd bring him straight into seniors rather than via VFL. (But if any doubt, I'd leave him off the park for an extra week or two just to be sure.)

If he’s fit, he’s fit. He comes straight back in. Walsh is the type that can do that

That's what I'm saying. Of course his back has to withstand a hit.

But you don't bring him in through the VFL. Straight in. First on the team sheet in fact!

Excusing your pun I think that it will be a stretch for Kennedy to come back from a calf injury after only one week. Hope I am wrong. Owies and Acres won't play. I hurt my knee many years ago, finished the game and couldn't walk the next day, so wouldn't be surprised if McGovern misses. Why rush Walsh against this mob ? Get rid of LOB and his elite disposal (ha ha). Fisher is struggling - make him the sub and bring in a couple of players who are doing well in the 2s, other than Dow.

Agree with all that

and let Michael Christian have his way with us?

No way. For too long, 2 decades we have copped all the MRO bias and let them have their way with us whilst obvious misdemeanours requiring ssupension have not been penalised.

Stuff Michael Christian. He is wrong. He's let a few bad hits go unpunished recently and decides that the Carlton player's smother is a bump and despite the player who got bowled over got up and carried on playing unhurt, but Christian, the AFL Commission's fall guy, decides the penalty by the colour of the jumper. Its time he learned a lesson, and no more abuse and bias against Carlton will be tolerated.

So what if Acres is going to be rested or not.

Not necessarily, but get it thrown out now so he has a clean record. Last thing we need is a key player being suspended in Round 24 because we did nothing in Round 3 and it costing us come finals time.

I doubt they would know for sure yet. If he gets off, it keeps our options open should he recover well enough by Friday. But even if he has been definitively ruled out already, I’m glad we’re contesting the suspension because it’s unfair.

RE: Walsh, I'm kinda wondering if we should keep him on the sidelines for one more week. Even if he is ready to go.

OK, it's AFL and he's gonna cop hits any week but having him run out against a Clarkson-coached side gives me the heeby-jeebies. You just know that little puke's gonna tell one of his less talented/skillful players to line Walsh up and cop the report.

Exactly. Do most coaches target vulnerabilities in players returning from injury. Of course. Their defense is always they shouldn’t be playing if they’re not 100%. Fair enough but Clarkson is a special kind of cauliflower, and absolute bottom of the barrel cauliflower of the highest order. He will go after Walsh for certain. The appropriately named Cunnington will get the job. Do we run scared. Of course not. But Sam’s keenness to get back should be balanced by needing him to ease back and last the season. My best mate is a spinal surgeon who pioneered the microdiscectomy operation in Australia and he reckons it is early to be back for full contact sport.

Apparently a crowd of around 45,000 is expected for this game.
If this is successful it would be good if North and Carlton get this game each year and turn it into something special.

Yeah I don't trust the little cauliflower one bit.
