A fit and in form Williams and Martin are in our best 22 any day of the week.

Even when fit they're frequently out of form... the reason people consider them best 22 just illustrates how weak our list is.
Maybe we're trying to justify their price tag...
Do you really think our list is so weak?
I think we possibly have a weak bottom 4 or 5, which makes us a bit vulnerable when our depth is tested with injuries. But that is a far cry from having a weak list.
I think many pundits think we have a top tier or at least 2nd tier list. If they mark us down it is more about other things.
In this day and age, with 18 teams, every team has soft parts of their list. The key is to find the right roles for these players to support the strengths. And we have a lot of strengths, and for the most part right where we want them to be (spine, contest).
If you genuinely think our list is weak, I suspect you will never be happy.

Add the 9 injured players to the AFL and VF teams.
I think you'll find that we have a GREAT Best 23 and a lot of quality depth and therefore a great list.
Farmer Blue and others have highlighted their targets for Trade or Draft end of season.
We all agree that some of the injury prone players who are out of contract will not be carried into 2023.
But that's next year.
The best way to look at this TODAY is define one's view on Gov's position amongst the Best 23.
Is he Best 23 because he's playing TODAY, and what if he gets injured or gets through the season, what's the opinion on him on the list; he's out of contract?
I think we wait till the end of the year and see what happens in the next 24 weeks. Plenty can happen and plenty will change just as it has since before xmas and again just before round 1.
