Scott Lycett as the mature Rick option for a year or 2? Definitely a better player than Pittonet.

Give our 2 Irish imports and Hollands ... do you know how many spots do we have left?

Do u think Austin might hand a lifeline to Toby McLean? He was an excellent player before his ACL's.

He’d still have his job if that were true.

He’s behind Ivan Soldo & Jordon Sweet ffs.

Also think where the future 3rd eventually went.

No Dow deal means no Hollands deal.

There’s a time and place to make a statement. A bit part mid we didn’t want who wanted to move just across the city?

That’s not the right time to make a statement.

Some of the lack of strategic and long-term thinking around here is just mind-boggling.

     Oh dear - So let me get this right, we wouldn't have made a deal for Hollands without a future 3rd - nothing else could have done it? In your words. Oh dear.

You know what - I'm actually tired of this sh1t been thrown around in here.

What’s your take on the Hollands trade Surrey?

I'll play one last time, but only because you asked nicely. Not that I don't believe you aren't fishing.

I haven't seen enough of the kid to be totally convinced either way.
As a previous high draft pick (is that ok to say  ) and from the limit viewing he looks classy and talented.
My concern is that he hasn't been able to break into the GC team and I would like to know the reason(s) behind that. Does he work hard enough? Does he have an attitude issue?
So for the pick we paid - I'm obviously ok with, but as a top 10 pick, I would have expected GC to ask for more.
I'm a little cautious currently due to price paid and 3 years of limited output. That's my 2 cents.

Three spots to fill… I think. Two definitely at the draft & one rookie/SSP.

@kennyhunter - I’m not happy that I was right in being cautious but here we are.
Hopefully the kid has the family support in Vic.

I’d have both of them in front of Pittonet too.

The crying emoji is a touch dramatic...you'd have to be naive to think the vast majority of footballers arent doing the said substance. He's just been caught.

Now I hope the club has placed conditions in his contract and read the riot act to him.

Would this impending case have lowered his price?

And let's not forget what a certain superstar key forward of ours did right before we drafted him.

Anyway, fits nicely at the BAGGERS lol.

Getting off the drama for a minute.

Austin has forecast Hollands E as a HF with a turn in the mid. With continued improvement from Cincotta, Cowan, Binns, Hollands O, Motlop, Durdin,
we will have improved speed and goalkicking ability next year.

Three talls in the VFL. KPB, KPF, Ruck. Two picks in the 20s in the draft.

A decent run with injury and we have no gaps for a decent run at top 4 and then?

I agree Teddy. Plus the return of Zac Williams.
I thought our list was ready to make a charge for the 17th plag in 2023, if we weren't cursed by injury. In the end, we were.

I was looking at all the FA's for 2024.

https://www.heraldsun.com.au/sport/afl/free-agency-2024-every-free-agent-at-all-18-afl-clubs-named/news-story/8be3f08311d920c39a0ee0b73c3da100

and there's only a couple I would look at to further strengthen us: Witts or Darcy (No 1 Ruck).

Then there's players who would improve us, McLuggage (mid), Zurhaar (F), Berry (HF) but the rest of the FA's would be for depth, such is the state of our list.

Out of all the players in 2024, my top 3 players who can really launch us into a top 4 with a big personal seasons are.........

King DeK - Has the skills and talent. With another huge preseason he will get the added size and power. If he becomes a consistent dominant force, then get on board.

Mots - Year 3. Just starting to get his head around it. Has all the tricks required and the goal sense. He needs to set his sights on being our premier small forward and aim for 40+ goals.

Harry, Harry, Harry. - Can it all click. Can the rubiks cube inside his brain get all the colours to match. 60+ from Him and 60+ from Charlie is all we need.

Regards Cazzesman

Hard to disagree with that.
I'd add C Durdin and Williams in top 5.

O Hollands and Kemp should improve further as well and remember that Walsh didn't start to hit his straps until late in the season after returning from a back injury. Hopefully Binns and E Hollands can add to our improvement as well.
