The Walsh rumour seems to be gaining momentum. Being reported on multiple media outlets. These things invariably come to fruition. Pretty much sums up our entire year

If he does miss, as it seems he will, it certainly does sum up our year.
We won without him in round 1.
It would be nice for a change to have a healthy list.

It's a lovely day to be a resting ruckman in the forward line. Can't help but think the Pies backline would be stretched to halt a De Koning down there. They haven't handled tall forward lines particularly well this year. Go Hawks!

Sadly I think we're carrying too many busted up players. Even if we get through, I suspect we won't get very far.
Player injury management will be a big issue to address over the pre-season.

I like your go hawks Doc but that mob don't do us any favours. Polkinghorne dobbing in Wayne Johnston and getting him rubbed out and then when they shut down Fev not allowing him 100 goals even though they were about 1000 points up with 5 mins to play. Today won't be any different even though win, lose or draw they remain 13th on the ladder. Won't affect the draft.

Obrien, Newnes and Hewett all not playing reserves which gets me more worried that Walsh may not play.
It would sum up our year

Apparently Walsh is out :banghead:

We just can’t have good things.

Yep. Melbourne for the second year running has almost a full list to choose from at the business end of the year. Sydney and Geelong also looking very healthy.
Luck plays a role but ultimately I believe our high performance team is missing a trick or two somewhere along the line. Needs a big shake up in the pre season.

Generally I agree doc but when he came in a few weeks ago to play the same role he kept taking his defender to the contest where Harry and Charlie were. He was just getting in the way.
I am hopeful Jack Martin can be the difference down there today. Played himself into some form in the second half last week.

To be fair Melbourne do have about four injuries.

If Walsh now misses Russell has to go. If he were coach we’d be baying for blood.

The game is hard enough without constant injuries to your better players
