I didn't know the song was so open to different interpretations. I think the first 4 lines are obvious, and the meaning of the last 5 is dependent on whether they're sending "us" or "up". If it's "us", then we're being sent to compete with all the champions. If it's "up", then the champions are being sent up to play us. Either way, it doesn't really matter, because we're going to keep our end up, i.e. perform well, and the other teams will know that they've been competing against a great team. |
