Happy to put my hand up.

I don't want to be an embarrassed Carlton supporter any longer. Time to man up!

I just found out a couple of friends of mine who have been members for over 30 years have not renewed their memberships this year.
They were Captains club members and sit not far from me and we always went together, including interstate trips.
Didn't like the way the club treated Teague and Liddle were the reasons.
I wonder how many other long time members have done the same thing.

That's bloody funny - I bought my first membership this year (can't believe I haven't bought one before! :garthp: ). My reasons for buying one were the complete opposite to your friends - i.e. I was delighted that they finally got rid of Teague and the sneaky leaker in Liddle.

Perception is such an amazing thing.

This friend sent me a txt today saying he wants to go to the Port game and was wondering if I had a spare ticket.
Didn't take him long and I think he may be regretting his decision, although I am sure he could re-new and likely get the same seat.
He ended up buying a ticket to the game.

Yeah, it's not surprising... If we keep up our winning form over the next few weeks I can guarantee that the membership numbers will have a massive spike, for good reason too. It's hard not to want to jump on the bandwagon after such a long time in the doldrums.

As much as it looks as though I have - I haven't jumped on the bandwagon this year. It just so happens that our really crappy period on and off the field in the past 10 years has coincided with me living in remote WA, unable to see any games. Then COVID.

Now I live a 15min walk from Optus Stadium and with the possibility of traveling to Vic again this year there are no excuses. The change in off-field personnel was the catalyst though.

Go Blues!

Good onya hotspur

79,000 and rising.

I'm buying a bunch this week for new Carlton fans in Melbourne.
We are becoming an attractive club. I didn't push it. I was told the family of girls have chosen Carlton as their team.
As the Godfather of one of them, its my duty to buy them ALL a membership !!!

Yes. I went to the Carlton shop in person on Wednesday 20 April.

Thanks Kezza. I noticed the club has figures on website again.

That's about 620 off last year's record.
Last year included a lot of freebies for a nominated friend.

Fantastic effort, and there's 2 months (May-June) to be counted.

We need another BIG Scalp, but a win this week is a step in the right direction.
