Possibly the worst side for us to play after a stirring win.

We need to get the job done, and then some.

Win this and will be our best season since 2013.

Win this and there is a decent chance we sit in the 8. Depends on other results of course.

For faaark sake don't blow this..........its the sort of thing we specialise in.But not this time..........this is a great time for our side to break old habits.

Parts of south east Queensland are going into a snap 3 day lockdown from 4pm today.
I imagine they will have to leave as early as possible after their game his weekend.

If TDK doesn't come up
Bring Gov in to play the Jones role and Jones in ruck with JSOS

No one known this is easy, they beat GWS and Richmond as well down here in Melbourne and weirdly struggled since leaving Melbourne again.

Will be small margins which decide this, be nice to have Williams back, JSOS permanent ruck doesn’t fill me with confidence.

We should be ok to play next week though.

I wonder if Owies will be on the chopping block after being quiet of late.

Saints were very poor last night I thought, GC will be a tougher assignment. It should be a good game of footy.

My thoughts exactly, either that or have gov run around in the ruck using his jump.

A VFL game between Gold Coast and Southport was called off nine minutes into the first quarter.

Why bother stopping?

Yeah, just came here to post the same thing, rehearsing for next week.

In: McGovern
Out TDK (inj).

Hopefully it’s no more than a week for TDK. A ruck combination of SOJ/McGovern - with Kennedy, Cripps & Jones helping out around the ground - isn’t sustainable.

The only other change I’d consider is bringing in Fogarty if Owies needs a spell. SPS & Cottrell played well in the VFL today but I wouldn’t be rushing them back. I’m also in no rush to bring in Carroll, Kemp or Ramsay. They are promising long term prospects, especially Carroll, but they don’t look ready to me. Their time will come.

My initial thoughts:

OUT: DeKoning injured 1-2 weeks, Newman or Williamson

IN: Gov to share ruck with SOS, Kemp to relieve Plowman of 3rd tall dutes and Plow to take HBF role on Sexton or mind their small forward, Ainsworth now that Rankine has been dropped.

I liked Williamson as a HF, but feel he was a success because of the element of surprise.

GCS will be better opponents than Saints.

GC may have to stay in Melbourne and now will play with 2 less days rest
Should be ripe for the picking but as we know it depends on which Carlton turn up and whether we decide to have a holiday in one or any quarters

I like Jack in the ruck. It forces our mids to be accountable and Jacks ground work is very good.
I'd bring in Ramsay or Kemp for Willo. I like Ramsays run so it would be good to see him get an opportunity before the year is out. Williamson hasn't improved since his first year IMHO. Lacks awareness and composure.

I have no problem with him being our 2nd ruck but I don’t want him as our #1 ruckman week after week. Hopefully TDK is back pretty soon.

Watching Dees vSuns

Suns ok early but obvious Ed needs to go to Miller from the start
Suns are alright and you can’t give them a sniff but we need to get a good start

I'm thinking the Suns have put the cue in the rack for 2021. 8 unanswered goals to the Dees.

Big chance for the Carlton kids to really get some confidence next round.
