At the start of this thread, I voted Voss. I still think he would be the way to go.
Our players obviously like Teague, but they don't fear him. By that I mean a spray from DT probably has little or no impact. Because they would see that as him acting
out of character.
However (I'd imagine) an angry Voss on the rampage would spare no one. And it would get personal, very personal. I don't think that's happening now. But it's what is needed. Voss would be a bastard when required, and bully so called professional footballers into being what they're paid to be.
So for me it's Voss in, keep Power, get Hamill, and clean out the rest of the assistants.

I wouldn't be against that except Hamill .

Only 2 voted for Voss.

I admit I am the other. Still think he is the one. Far more experience than when he was head coach at the bears, less divisive than Clarkson and as he would come cheaper more money in the soft cap for decent assistants.

Last thing i want in this club is an already failed coach.

That's over simplistic imo
People learn from their experiences.
Voss became a senior coach too early.
Not saying he's our guy but I wouldn't rule him out purely on his record at lions.

You want to take a risk on a failed coach in our situation? Not a chance!

The coach that would best suit our list would be Don Pyke. I believe Clarko will retire. Ross Lyon would be too defensive. We tend to go shit with those types of coaches. We'd run out of defence with the numbers back and kick straight to the opposition with our ball use. We'd drive Lyon crazy. The coaches with the best two results, win/loss, this century, Ratten and Teague, have been attacking coaches. The issued was finding the defensive balance in both cases. Hence I prefer Don Pyke. If we want him we need to get him before Collingwood does.

If you were a prospective senior coach you would still look at our list and think I want to coach this club.

There is a lot to work with. Surround the talent with the right people.

This. There’s a toddler with the keys to a V8 at the moment. A coach who is not only good but knows they are will back themselves to whip this list into shape, no mercy

There is nothing to be gained from releasing the review.

The recommendations should be obvious.

Thing that concerns me about Lyon is that he never really learnt his lesson about recruiting shitheads with bad off-field behaviour, and just kept rolling the dice until Freo said no more.

Lovett, Hogan, McCarthy, Bennell, to a lesser extent - Gardiner. And what he tolerated from the list he inherited - Dawson, Gram, Milne/Montagna etc.

Do we need to be less white middle class with talent identification? Yes, absolutely, but I'm not exactly thrilled with the idea with Lyon's total lack of standards here either.

This should make Walsh happy.
Surely he'll bring the two way running and attacking game plan for our mids.

That is freaky. I loved Andrew McQualter back in the TAC days. Like really, really loved him. Week after week he would rack up 40+ possessions at Gippsland Power. At Caulfield Grammar he use to toy with them. I pumped him up week after week but………..such is life. Jordan Russell played 125 games and McQualter 94.

I never got why in the AFL he went from a ball magnet to a tagger.

Has had great success at The Tigers as a Coach. Interestingly he was the midfield Coach at Richmond for some time. Go figure.

Great memory Effes. Oh yes Micky S aka (MMM - My Man Micky) had a brilliant career in Qld and went on to work in the AFL.

Hugely under-rated footballer. Coached the Melb Women’s football team since inception.

Cerra is not going to be critical of his current coach

No one would because if he ends up staying how would that go down

I would read nothing into what he said

Normally they give a generalised answer to something like that. This isn't a direct quote though so it might be something just "leaked" out, or it's just plain media crap. Soon may find out.

We are Cerra’s preference. He and his girlfriend want to come back home to be closer to family.
Might change but that’s where it sits currently.
