What how anti climatic……. Voss. Oh geez.

Yes, why would you go down the path of a failed coach when there are a number of other choices. He had a worse win/loss record than Teague and set Brisbane back years. No-one knows if he is a better head coach, just gambling.

I may be wrong but I remember Brisbane were on the rise and played finals under Voss then he topped up with Fev and others and that set them back.

Agreed. Also had the worst facilities in the competition at the time and a playing list that largely didn't want to be there.

I don't think the question is whether Voss was ever a bad coach, so much that he was consistently given a bad hand, made even worse by his circumstances.

Looks like it is going to be Lyon. Even Sportsbet have put Lyon straight back into the betting markets.

Be better than getting Voss.

I’m quite sure a panel including (among other things) a 2-time Brownlow medallist and multiple premiership winning coach might know a bit more about what makes a good coach than we do.

I'm very happy to look at the coaching CV. It failed. That should tell you enough. So you are gambling that he is better. Panels have screwed up big time before. Think you know that.

Orrrrrrr they speak to the guy (now much older and experienced) and from their conversations realise “@#$%&!, this guy has actually grown and learned a lot since last time”. I doubt they’re sitting there pointing to Caro’s arrow from 2012 while he’s trying to speak.

But wasn’t the process hopeless and no one wanted to coach Carlton media garbage a very sought after job and a number in the frame

Embarrassingly predictable media hysteria about the review the club taking decisive action out of the review and the club now starting a new era
I’m happy with the way it has panned out

Moreover if Lyon wants to join process again then he appears in front of the panel and takes his chances
Goes more to credibility of the process the appropriateness of Carlton sticking to the process and Lyon if he does get it will have earned it and not thought he was entitled to get it
I have confidence that panel will get to the right decision
Best off-season for some time in my view

RTB is my first pick. I'd be very happy if he is back in the running.

Failed coach. Anything else is a gamble. Set Brisbane back years. There are plenty of other options out there that are probably better.

You point to spin, i'll point to the scoreboard. You're just spouting out of hope in case we get him. There is no evidence that he will be alot better so it is a gamble. We can't be making wrong appointments right now.

Clubs don't appoint failed coaches these days, expect us seemingly, but back in the day when they did, failed recycled coaches ended up still failing again. Back then the job wasn't as big either. Good reason for it. I, for one, are not prepared to gamble unnecessarily.

Jim have you gambled on the outcome of the coaching appointment?

We can’t go wrong with either Clarko or Lyon , with cook running the show

We have a short window with this playing group , we lost 2 years under the previous coach ,

Voss won’t be anywhere near appointed so soon

8 days ago he hadn’t even started the process. With David Campbell from EZ on our board, we’ll be wanting to get under the dirty nails of a speculative coach.

May we’ll be the case we might be targeting him as an assistant.

Cook will be involved.

Let’s take a collective breath!

Agree with Franky
Extremely disappointing season but the off season has been very positive in my view. Decisive action taken with the aim of improving the club and making structural changes. Cook is a great get and gives me a fair bit more confidence that we’ll get the senior coaching appointment right
If we go with Kingsley or Voss, we need to make sure we attract a couple of quality assistants. Scarlett would be a good get if that happens. Then maybe lure 1 or 2 more that are highly rated in the industry

Leaking Voss’ name as a potential coach is hopefully more political than anything else, given his reservations with the process last time

Everything gone quiet since yesterday?
Clearly, we are waiting for FC tonight to provide insight into all things Carlton… ;-)

This is where I’m thinking it’s at too.

Wouldn’t mind Kingsley though in that list.
