RIP Serge.

Had the honour of watching him play. especially in the 1968 and 1970 GFs.

A great player, clubman and a great person too. I remember listening to him when he was on the radio providing expert comments, he really understood the game and the tactics involved. He could have made a great coach if he'd wanted the gig long term.

Another hero from my teenage years gone, just remembered how much my mum loved "Serge' too.

Fair amount of emptiness today. We've had some special players at Carlton but rarely such families!
Condolences to the Silvagni family.

Carlton royalty.

Very very sad. Pretty flat about this to be honest.

My brother had number 1 on his back as a little kid, I had number 2.
Kudos to Tracey Morrison on Twitter who suggested all Carlton players wear long sleeve jumpers this Sunday as a tribute to Serge.
What a cracking idea

I remember staying up late on Thursday nights to hear the team ... Ruck Nicholls, Ruck Rover Silvagni, Rover Gallagher. A magnificent trio.

Rest in Peace Serge Silvagni ... a great Carlton person.
