That’s all good and well, but who plays Stockers role in defence?

We have 7 other defenders named.

Or any other midfielder we have in the side.

Have to say I've harboured thoughts of the team without Cripps.
Just the force change and mix things up. Good Different.

An unfit Cripps is OK, but he should be rested when needed.

WE will win without him.

If the coaching department has any cajones, I'd really like to see Stocker have a crack at an inside mid/tagging role this game.
Preferably on Adams, switching with ED.
It could be the time to test the future of this kid or at minimum, show him what he needs to do to get a permanent midfield role.
Like what he was drafted for.

Just came in to say the same thing after looking at the team.

Just let him hunt the ball, no tagging.

Big game for Dow, Samo and Kennedy to show they can step up.

His time will come.

Far more important job to be done on Elliott.

Stocker on Elliott is a huge ask, baulk at the thought, suppose Elliot or worst still for Liam, De Goey when resting , this game will demonstrate we’re the team stands , an enormous rivalry, significant event touching all Carlton supporters, the honoring of Sergio Silvagni .
It will reveal the resolve and determination of our team.

Honey for Martin

Martin is a gun   :sly:

Martin will need to play more minutes in the midfield - Honey was given minutes in VFL playing as sweeper centre square and not yet ready to compete with players like Martin's versatility.

Seriously mate one of the reasons we are where we are at is allowing guys to repeatedly get games when they don’t deserve them
Culture
Culture
Recruiting
Recruiting
I guess you can twist things around with words
He don’t deserve a game
If you are gifted games on a sizeable salary of course you get lazy

I was talking to a mate yesterday who is a Geelong supporter but not one of those wanker of supporters
Who thinks nothing stinks at Geelong
Jordan Clarke has heaps of talent but doesn’t work hard enough in defensive areas. Doesn’t play a team game. So he gets dropped and can’t get back in the seniors
Narkle has been in and out of the team because he doesn’t work hard enough

I just don’t get
Honey plays the same position as Martin
His body of work deserves a senior spot.
Martin’s efforts have been putrid

This sort of selection issues have been apparent for years at Carlton
It is so frustrating as a supporter
I want to see Carroll Honey Ramsay Kemp given at least a fortnight in the seniors before the years out at the expense of blokes who arnt performing
It’s not @#$%&! rocket science

But then we've got an awesome medical & conditioning team so I guess it's OK

WE know what Walsh can do (week in week out). Ditto Ed. Newnes can be solid (albeit peripheral imo)

Big chance for the midfield group to show they belong and are reliable at this level:

Kennedy, Dow, SPS.

The bench doesn't have a bonafide mid to rotate through the midfield, but Fisher may get his chance in there too. Cottrell will play wing and probably release SPS for mid role.

I'm guessing with Newman and Williamson as the 7th and 8th defenders will release Williams and dare say Stocker for midfield support.

I wanted Martin and Setterfield dropped and Honey in. Martin has to lift or he can go to Jenny Craig to try something different for his fitness.

Starts with Tom DeKoning against Grundy. If Tommy can break even, or better, we will win.

Weiters to captain. The club facebook page has gone with "Nanananananana leader!"

Cracking work from our socials team. Much better than our football team

I predict it will be the same midfield as last week, except Ed will replace Cripps in the rotations.

I get the sentiment, but I disagree. I think the tributes and black armbands will already be enough of a spotlight on Jack without having to lead the team as well. Plus, I want the club to use the opportunity to groom the next captain.

Nah I'm talking about earlier in the season. Fisher came straight into one of our SCG matches after a layoff & no seconds game.

From memory he started the match pretty well then completely faded
