Wouldn't mind seeing Stocker go to DeGoey. Certainly ahead of Plowman.
Plowman was hung out to dry in the first game. Handed Elliot when he was 15m off him, or De Goey when he was isolated.
As a defensive pair, Stocker & Newman are a significant upgrade on Docherty & Williamson. If he can get Jones back in, Plow will be in a much better place than he was round two.
If we dont control them and put pressure on the ball carrier coming out of the middle, it doesnt matter who is on them, they will get hit on the lead leace out every time. Round 2 was lot more to do with pathetic defensive effort in the middle and lack of clearances than Plowman's efforts on Elliot or DeGoey.
Spot on. Plow did make a couple mistakes, but he didn't cost us the game as some of the media suggested.
Carlton Mids let the pies waltz out free of any pressure.
Cripps was playing with the help of pain killing injections on his back.
Williams flared up an old achilles injury 10 minutes into the game, then returning with strapping.
Setterfield dropped next game (albeit injured as well)
Curnow left on a wing till last.
Bad coaching day.
Williamson was guarding the lead lane, not.
He was responsible for 2 of the 7 goals attributed to Plowman, and 4 all up.
Williamson was replaced by Parks next game.
I'm sure Plowman will stand up against this mob. redemption.
Its time for Williamson to stand up if he is retained.
This is his chance to prove he has turned the corner. Fingers crossed.
Back then SPS was the 7th defender, Dow was a HF, Murphy was a passenger.
Pitto was No 1 ruck, with Levi on one leg and Oscar 23rd man.
What a stuff up that game was.
