Fancy "resting" star players against us.

Cocky pricks.

They deserve an upset this Saturday.

If we cover their weapons with Weitering, Jones, and Fogarty stars, then anything can happen.

Harry Levi Jack are a handful for their defenders.

I'm cocky.

We should rest a player.

Cripps is a great footballer who isn’t playing great football.

He isnt playing great football but impacting games without dominating.

If 25 possession, 5 tackles and 5 clearances per game is average by Cripps standards then there is no reason for others to step up and make it an even spread in the midfield.

Counting on Cripps to dominate every game is the wrong way to go about it imo.

Impacting in a good,or bad way? What’s the nett impact? I’d suggest his lack of defensive running and poor disposal is giving him a nett minimal impact.

Still need all mids achieving the average Cripps output of 25 disposals, 5 tackles and 5 clearances or we are going to lose.

Disposal efficiency is down to 70% - Walsh is at 74% but only has half of the contested disposals Cripps does.

Cripps score involvements is 2nd highest on our list behind Walsh and most come from contested ball situations so I would say his impact has been positive just not dominating.

If you think Cripps is playing badly then need Dow, SPS, Kennedy, Fogarty to play just as badly in terms of output to have a chance.

Nope - we have a history of stuffing up games against opposition missing key players. Takes me right back to 1994 (I think?) finals when Geelong were missing Bairstow, Couch & Hocking!

We still owe them for that 94 final !! That game still hurts ...

Ablett snr destroyed Mil Hanna.

But we don't owe them anything. You may not remember the 1995 grand final.

I do remember the 95 grand final , I bought my ticket from a under 18 player who played that day and I sat at the top level of afl
Members section , ahh Bradley kicking the first goal of the game and that wink he gave to his team mates !!

We were beating anyone that year !! Today cripps on one leg and they need a double chance buffer , best time to get them and we finally win 3 games in a row , which would be achievement this year ...

FMD. Please no.
I am so looking forward to todays challenge, but not with more injuries.

We will be a midget team if we lose those 2.

Hmm. That would make things interesting. The emergencies are:
Matthew Cottrell
Tom Williamson
Will Setterfield
Zac Fisher

Or you could pay a fine and bring in someone else, like Parks.

Stanley-Ratugolea-Hawkins-Blicavs

DeKoning-Casboult

They're going to kill us in the ruck....

It's a pretty tall & ageing Geelong squad & I reckon our best chance would be just to run, run, & run. Ironically this could be a game that suits Teague's offensive game plan. Geelong really try to share the ball around & maintain possession & we need to upset that somehow.

I'm thinking Cats will win but not comfortably.

Harsh - you cant expect him win B&F, MVP, AA every year.

He is handballing more than kicking this year,, not sure why that is. He used to win the contested ball then kick it out of congestion maybe he needs to get back to that but now brings others into play.

25 disposals, 5 tackles and 5 clearances per game still makes him our best in and under player at the club and top 15 in the competition. Whether one thinks its a fallacy and delusional is immaterial.

Anything better than that will be AA, B&F and MVP standard and thats a little unfair to expect every year... what about others hitting those standards as well.

I think you and others are arguing the same thing from different angles. Sure we are better with him in the team but we can also be better than he has much of this year.

I still think we are figuring out the right mix and learning to play together. Cripps was super beast in 2018 and there was basically no one else to help, 2019 we had some more, but now we are trying to figure out a mix which will share the load and maximise each players strengths.

Some encouraging signs past 2 weeks with Dow and Kennedy sharing the load and Walsh still dominating being more on a wing. Today will be a good test.

Out, with Jones, as indicated above.
