Unfortunately or fortunately, I've been around for a long, long time and I can say Synbad was as passionate as any poster I have come across in my time. As per normal, I argued with him (A LOT) but he always had my respect, because of his passion and love for the club. He wasn't always right, and like me shot from the hip many times without thinking, but boy this place was alive when he was around.

They were dark days for the team and the club, and his arguments gave the impression there were people around who cared about the club as much as me and you.

Smart man Synbad. Good footballer back in the day. Great orator and did well in Classical Studies at Monash with his command of the Ancient Greek language.

But he was wrong on many things too ... like the rest of us mere mortals.

He could take in on the chin too, and didn't hold gripes.

Other than Mitch Duncan and Jeremy Cameron they are at full strength it will be a massive effort if we win.

It will be nice to have Doc, Charlie, Marchbank, Cunners, Gov, Pittonet at full fitness and in form like these blokes are.

Williams, Fisher and (reading between the lines) Setterfield most likely to come in this week. Oscar is back in the main group, so might be an outside chance?
