Poor bloke! He shouldn't be allowed to call Carlton games with such obvious unprofessional bias.

I thought JSOS was BOG. Love what he brings.

I also thought Plowman was pretty good. I feel for him with the treatment he gets from Carlton supporters. It's like they're blinded and can only see the mistakes.

Stocker - looks a good size for midfield. Is filled to the brim with cauliflower. Exactly what we need.

SPS had a stinker.

Kennedy, Dow and Stocker were good.

SPS not one tackle.

Just too hot and cold.

Well stats lie. I simple remember at least 2 tackles by SPS.
Anyhow he didn’t have a stinker and he is building. Give him time in his new position(s). Classy user.

His defending is still diabolical.

found a new whipping bot have we, mate???

I rate SPS - but his defensive work yesterday was horrendous. Freo were walking past him last night. Hopefully he does better next week.

Was good with ball in hand - but sometimes you have to run both ways.

I agree, SPS used the ball well last night but he needs to run harder the other way and stick tackles.

I could feel it from Sydney.

7-8 degrees C is bloody cold for non Alpine space.

Bluebaggers made it all worthwhile.

If Levi's body appreciated the rest last weekend, after a great return to form in the VFL the previous weekend, then no doubt Levi is cooked.

When everyone on the field got tired, Levi was still a huge body in the last, and he stood up.

We need to keep getting games into DeKoning, despite getting beaten by the bigger bodied and in form Darcy, and as a result we got smashed in the clearances.

TDK still needs genuine ruck support from last ruck standing, Levi, till Pitto returns.

Exactly.

Until he does, he will be peripheral to our needs and Trade bait.

He has only 7 games (if selected) to change this, or others will pass him by.

Philp, Cuningham, Docherty, Fisher, Setterfield all want a spot in the team too, and could easily replace SPS if fit.

Then there's Honey, Ramsay and Carroll putting their hand up.

Weitering gave an All Australian performance.

With Harris injured, the bias AA panel will have no choice but to selct Weitering ahead of Jones as AA KPD: maybe both.

That last 40 minutes was maybe the worst umpiring I have ever seen (both ways).

Nice to get two on the bounce.

Umpires lost the plot.

Was it because they were in awe of Stocker?

If Sean Darcy ever wants to move back to Victoria, I hope we go all out to get him. Imagine having Darcy + TDK working in tandem. Oh boy, wowee! (BT voice).

There were positives
Weitering is AA
Jones not far off although as usual his use by foot is diabolical

JSOS was very good probably his best game
Kennedy Dow better
Walsh amazing
But we were shit after quarter time
We were smashed in clearances 45 to 26
The Dockers had nearly double the stoppage clearances 33 to 17
They had 12 more inside 50s
They simply didn’t have a forward line

The last ten minutes were great because players stepped up but the reality is we are a very average side
And our midfield is so far off it

We'll have to wait until after 2024.

All true.
But the good thing was we lifted where we have often petered out.
And, even when they were smashing us at clearances and inside 50s, we didn’t bleed out like we so often have. And while Weitering and Jones were great, it also looked like we have changed our defensive setup so there was some back up if they didn’t win their contest.

I was not a fan of Plowman previously, but noticed how much we missed him in the games he was injured/suspended. He is maligned because he occasionally makes a mistake that costs us a goal. On reflection, playing in defence often on the best small/medium forward is a monumental task when our midfield has been so poor. With us seemingly being prepared to play our recruits in positions they were recruited for our midfield is getting better. How long did it take to realise that trying to turn all our mid recruits into half back flankers may not have been the best make up for a side crying out for development of mid fielders.
