Last year was last year. I was a fan.

Cameras don't lie. He has been exposed. I can't defend him this year. Camera doesn't lie:

He was jogging when he should have been chasing;

He was watching when he should have been tackling;

He should have been a forward option running into space but stuck his hand up with his taller opponent next to him.

I haven't given up on him, but hoping the shame of being found out may help drive him. Lazy is the apt word imo.

Martin has always been soft

I think its more to it than that - LOB's decision making, inacurate kicking and halving the contest leave alot to be desired sometimes

LOB like Dow had his best season in his first year.

Free him up, let him play, get his confidence back. Give him at least 3 games as Cottrell got more than that. He may not make it but give him a chance.

Agree. I'm not a LOB fan but given the season's over we should at least have another look at him before we're done IMO

So was Bradley, but that didn't stop him winning 30 plus possessions a game and being involved in scoring opportunities right up till the day he retired at 63yo.

Martin is a tough tackler when he tackles.

I think he's another unfit player under the Russell regime.

I’m beginning to wonder how many premierships Hawthorn would have won if they’d had a decent fitness coach.

Bradley IMO wasn’t soft.
I saw him back into packs.
As we all know he was one of the hardest runners ever
He would be close to the best Carlton player I have seen.
His record is amazing and his professionalism was second to none

Bradley was outside.

Outside does not immediately equal soft.

When Braddles had to go, he went. Not soft.

I loved Bradley and he is a legend.

Its common knowledge he was considered soft at time for not going into packs and putting himself in harms way.

My point is, even 'soft' martin can do plenty more to compensate his....

I'm convinced its laziness, not softness.

Always?

Lets leave Bradley ... I'm not arguing against him and never did.

He was a total professional.

Always showed up to play in supreme condition.

Martin is not soft, he’s one on the few to tackle with intent.

Don’t mistake not being able to move with unwillingness.
