Owies was our CHF for a while today. At least we've superseded Betts

That's the only positive ..... it means H and Newman get to play next game (assuming their concussion is within the 10 day protocol category)

Maybe abit of Champaign comedy. Bad loss today...but these youngsters have 10 years in front of them not 2 thats what the rebuild is for. What happens next 2-5 years is to be seen.

Seriously, what were your expectations for the year? Did you think 4-8 would be the result half way? Do you think it’s acceptable?

Walsh Weitering and McKay are the only proven players on the list above. Charlie is unlucky but it’s a long road back. Stocker should make it.

Stocker should be played in the midfield. Couldn’t give a @#$%&! about his ability to run outs games, he will never build an engine playing back pocket.

Correct you do not play someone without stamina in the back line, but then again who came up with the no engine shit.

At no stage today did we look like we would win.

Two mins in when we left Darling 20m clear in the forward 50, so that even when the kick missed him, he had the time to gather the ball and kick a goal completely uncontested. That’s when I knew we were going to lose the game.

To be honest, I knew well before that

The recruiting of Saad Williams Martin McGovern on such big money and long term contracts not forgetting the draft picks and the overall poor recruiting of mids
It’s a disgrace
When will the club finally act and do something different other than sack the coach

Shameful effort today
So many blokes who simply lack the skill and/or effort
No depth
Gifting games to players who are soft
Atrocious

Today was the result that should finally put to rest that this rebuild is a bust

Probably the worst rebuild of all time

Never made it close to making finals

The early draftees not coming on was the first nail in the coffin

Topping up with big money on players like McGovern, Martin, Williams and Saad was the final nail in the coffin

The only silver lining is that reality may have finally set in and phase out players who won’t be there if we ever win our next premiership

I said this years ago but if you are relying on Ed Curnow to be in your best midfielders then you are in trouble. Nothing has changed. Although I do admire his efforts.

Yep, don’t blame you.

I did the same thing a few years ago and haven’t seen much to make me change my mind.

Today 6 June 2021 was the worst performance of the year.
What they scored, what we scored, what the difference was is irrelevant.

I keep thinking of Setterfield in the 1st Quarter 35m out and looking around ,,,, and looking around. "Please someone help me, I don't want to do this" ..... then he doesn't make the distance. What confidence does that give the other players?
We (sorry) They were Crap today.

Just home from the game.
Never looked like it.
We have to many dumb players and no one on the paddock giving them guidance.
There is no on field leader.
Everyone is playing for themselves and not as a team.
They completely lack confidence. You have a bloke who has played nearly 300 games and he doesn't want to take set shot from goal 30 out. It gives it off to Cotrell and he snuck it in by the skin of his teeth.
I watched them kicking for goal in warm up and they never missed.
Then we have Harry 1 JSOS 2 Setterfield 1 Walsh 1 Pitto 2 Owies 1 all miss gettable goals.
They are 3 goals down in the last they have the ball in the middle of the ground and they kick it wide because no one wants to take the game on.
As good as Cripps is he is not captain neither is Doc.

It's not coaching you can't coach stupid.
You can have the best game plan on the planet but if you are teaching clueless players you have no chance.
We have 2 smart players
Eddie who is 35 plus
McGovern who is to lazy to get his body right to play.
Plenty of ability but no brains

Smacked in contested ball and tackles. And the Eagles aren’t a tackling team. Just so weak. Players can’t motivate themselves and set high standards. Coaches can’t drag it out of the playing group either. Until we become a genuinely hungry and desperate team we can forget about it. That’s the biggest reason this rebuild has failed - no standards have been developed. We ignored the basic (like playing hard nosed hungry footy) and thought we could just amass talent and all of a sudden we’d be a premiership contender. We’re as soft as we were in 2015 when we started this rebuild. No tangible improvement in mentality in 6 years

That is it in a nutshell.

WOW.....Over the Moon.... who else did we get for Free??

If you're going to try to have a ounce of credibility when making big calls about Carlton's failure to recruit well, you need at least get something right.

You got 2 from 2 wrong in your silly rant and got spanked by everyone accordingly.

Suck it up and move on mate.

I would never say such a thing haha

Like you I have never felt confident about our direction since the complete rebuild was announced. I can’t recall a patch of games since 2016 where things seemed to click. That’s unusual over a 6 year period.

Although a factor, I think the issues go way beyond list management

Biggest issue is the losing culture. It’s entrenched at this club.

Unless you break this cycle, talented youngsters don’t develop, game plans fall apart, standards drop yadayada. As they say nothing beats the feeling of winning games to build belief and to lose that stigma.

One of the most glaring issues is the inability to transition the ball out of defence into midfield. The mindless “bomb it down the line” is so predictable and our inability to hold possession after the first short kick out of defence is just horrendous.

When we don’t have the cattle to take a contested mark on the wing, we just kept playing this mindless way.

2.5 hours of my life only rendered not a waste by the fact I went with my elder son.

He might need therapy soon the way this is going.

I have reserved seats with my sister and brother in law.
They haven't been this year and have already said they probably wont renew next year.
I will likely still go but I think there will be plenty who won't.
