I reckon TDK did enough today to keep Levi out for at least another week.

Hopefully SPS, LOB, Parks, Kennedy & Honey play well in the VFL tomorrow to give us options at the selection table.

TDK did enough today to keep Levi out forever.
14 disposals and a goal as well and competitive in the Ruck .
Levi should not get a look in

Our coaches need to step up. They are up against the best coached team.
This will be a huge test and will see what they are made off. We have the talent to beat Sydney but do we have the smarts?

If SPS & Newnes have decent games tomorrow in the VFL:

B: Plowman Jones Stocker
HB: Saad Weitering Williams
C: Doc Cripps Newnes
HF: Murphy SOJ Fogarty
F: Betts Harry Owies

R: Pittonet E Curnow Walsh

Inter: Newman, SPS, Setterfield, TDK
Sub: Cottrell

In - Newnes, SPS
Out - Cottrell, Gibbons

Setterfield vs Kennedy is a toss of the coin for mine, but I think they will go with Setterfield again. I thought he stunk it up in the first half today but was better towards the end of the game.

Martin & Fisher have missed a fair bit of footy now, so I expect them to come back via the VFL.

As an aside, how much better would the above side look with C Curnow, Martin, Cunners & Fisher in attack? Even McGovern would be handy. I have my misgivings about Crocker, but it wouldn’t surprise me if they do bring him in on a 6 month contract via the MSD. We need to find another avenue to goal somehow.

Martin and Honey (if a half decent game tomorrow) for Gibbons and Cottrell.

Martin & SPS for Cottrell & Gibbons would be a huge bonus. Not sure Martin would come straight back but I’d be happy with it.

Swans are a very professional outfit and will cut us to pieces of we continue with our current 'strategies'.

Only 3 teams have won the following week after returning from Perth.
Sun's did round 2 when they beat north
Port managed 2 Point over Tiges.
Crows today by 1point

Swans probably on Red eye tonight

Only possible outs to my mind (injury/illness/need to rest aside) would be Cottrell (for Jack Martin if he is right to come back in alternatively best performing mid in the 2s) and Plowman (for Parks) - oh, and Honey if you count him as in the team this week. Could make a case for all of them to stay. Pittonet looking weary but unless the week off gives Casboult a miraculous boost there is no option to come in. And I did like his effort today (as usual). Jones made errors but that is part of the package and again who do you replace him with? Gibbons and Setterfield (especially late) I thought better this week though not setting the world on fire. Harry and Eddie still managed their couple of goals each despite being quieter generally and Harry seemed to me to be constantly held off the ball which goes a long way to explaining his woes - and if I was seeing things (certainly the umpires gave no indication the holds were there) then it was a top defensive effort rather than Harry being poor. And again, who would come in Cas? Kennedy?

Does Jack Martin need a run in the 2s or will he come straight back to the 1s? I'm inclined to have him in for Cottrell and Parks for Plowman if Parks has a good game tomorrow. If not Plowman may survive again as there's not a lot of options.

Swans look like they may need to replace Fox and Hickey - I am guessing Melican for Fox and either Naismith or Sinclair in the ruck.

Our biggest game of the season so far need this win to build belief and keep building it next week against West Coast and take a solid 6-6 into the bye.

If this team has a run-on with sky high morale of winners, will be very difficult to stop due to the sheer talent on the list.

Interesting game. So far this year our opponents have been absolute guns like Dogs & Dees, or the games where we've clearly been expected to win, like yesterday. Us & Swans are very evenly poised though, real 50/50 game this.

Carlton by 189 points

The Pies had a good game against the Dogs and close to full strength when we played them.

Will be different next time, we will beat them.

The Swans game is always the barometer. They are a keep you honest team, win this and finals are up for grabs.

Can't see us making any changes based on the reserves game so far...
