Against 3 teams in the 8.... ?
If we win all three, I think it will demonstrate that we have improved beyond a middle of the road team.
I’d suggest similar if we win two. Depending on how we lose and by how much and how we win and by how much.
If we win just one, then I agree - middle of the road team who can beat teams below it but not those above.
If we lose all three, then we are below a middle of the road team.

So basically we don't know and we're only as good as our results.

What will the fourth game signify?

i watched ressies only 3 players for me showed something, parks ,willow, honey and kennedy . Against swans we need to keep that forward line pressure lock it in because if we dont they will just run it out with precise foot skills into there OPEN forward line. Watch the last 40 secs against freo they had two players running into forward 50 all the space to take a easy mark. Freo were lucky the ball carrier went the long bomb.(for example)

You couldn’t find room for Kemp in your list of three?

I counted 4, and I can't count.

So then there's 5 - Kemp, Kennedy, Parks, Honey, Willow. Add Dow who at least didn't disappoint given that he didn't play. That's 6.
Likewise Durdin, but he isn't in the mix yet anyway. That's 7. Would Dow be fit? if so he couldd be brought in as a set of very fresh legs which could be handy given the ground, the opposition and the fact that they are coming back from the West. That's 8. Likewise Casboult if his week off is enough to freshen him up but only the fitness staff would know that. That's 9. Add Martin if he doesn't come back via the 2s. That's 10.

But really which of them do we think would improve the team? Kemp not ready, Parks much of a muchness with Plowman, Kennedy a slow mid (although he could fill a tall role forward I suppose). Honey shows a bit but is it enough? Willow looked good in bits but has looked out of his depth at the top level since coming back from injury. Durdin neither ready or possibly fit. Dow may not be fit. Casboult has been very ordinary and another tall slow player might not be a great idea. And Martin might have been out too long to come straight back to the 1s, although I'd risk it.

So that's zero?

For myself Martin in for Cottrell and Parks for Plow if he doesn't get off.

Whether we pack up the kit and start an early preseason

I just can’t see us beating Sydney - they are too well drilled and disciplined.

Given the length of time off playing I would think Martin would need a run on the two's before getting a run in the one's. I therefore think there will be no changes as I expect Plowman's case to be thrown out.

kemp was really good but i didnt mention him as a likely call up because i believe he needs at least 3 games in reserves ,considering all the time he has missed

No. If we lose them all, we're shit and the recruiting is a disgrace.
If we win one, we're a bottom 4 side, we're shit and the recruiting is a disgrace
If we win 2, we're a middle of the road side because the recruiting is a disgrace
If we win them all, we've been underperforming AND our players are mentally soft due to disgraceful recruiting.

Make sense now?

Great to guess this time of the week.

My guess is

Parks for Plowman dependent on the tribunal

Honey for Gibbons

Martin give a game in the VFL first which means, Martin for Gibbons

Agree with this. And I guess your original post turns on the definition of a middle of the road team - in this case, middle of the road is, say 6th - 10th?
Noting that St Kilda won a final last year... and decidedly still a middle of the road team (or worse). They beat the Bulldogs who recruited well and have lifted their performance. The Demons missed the 8 but have really grown up and applying themselves across the board (plus added Mark Williams). Btw, I believe we are more on the Melbourne pathway than the Saints.
I believe that if we win all three, we will make the finals this year. (My KPI is: whenever we get ahead of the W-L ledger will be the year we make the 8). But just making the 8 needs to be a step in the journey and not the end-point, as it effectively was in our Judd years...

H should have a field day if its not wet.

Martin coming in to the team adds some class around half forward.

Our half back line is dynamite at the minute

Will be very disappointed if we dont get the win.

You've convinced me.

It all comes down to Jones on Buddy.
