Teague has said that Silvagni is likely and Martin is looking like next week.

With that in mind:

Docherty - Jones - Parks
Williams - Weitering - Saad
Walsh - Cripps - O'Brien
Silvagni - Casboult - Fogarty
Betts - McKay - DeKoning
Pittonet - Stocker - E. Curnow

Setterfield - Owies - Plowman - Newman

sub: Murphy

I would love for TDK to be included (as well as Dow and SPS) but can't see the MC bringing him (or them) in after a bye.

I'm really hoping we are tougher than last week, esp in 1:1 contests.
Last week there was good footage I think from 'On the Couch' which showed Plowman basically non-competitive in a 1:1 which resulted in an easy goal. And I don't mean he was outcompeted. I mean he was basically standing next to his opponent (I think Neal-Bullen?) with zero body pressure, just watched him mark the ball and run in to an open goal. And Setterfield on the boundary line put zero pressure on the kicker, I think Petracca. Just casually raised his arm as if pretending to guard in a low intensity training drill. In both cases, a little bit of intent may have foiled the play.

We are a much better team than the Hawks. We really need to prove it.

Setterfield got Petracca a few times too.

But if I see Plowman do that again, I will boo him next time, because I'm sick of watching him play unaccountable football almost every week. He stood and was ball watching several times last week, let alone doing the basics like getting body onto your opponent, to let them know they haven't got free reign, and to make life difficult for them too. I don't want lazy footballers playing in our jumper. We are better off without them.

The Hawks were smashed in the centre of the ground by previously winless North Melbourne and vice-captain O’Meara didn’t hold back on the club website, labelling the efforts by he and his comrades as “embarrassing”. With Tom Mitchell, Liam Shiels and James Worpel also part of the mix, it’s not exactly an inexperienced group. But it clearly isn’t working and it doesn’t get any easier at the MCG on Saturday against Carlton duo Sam Walsh and Patrick Cripps, who found some form last week. Hawthorn’s midfield coach is Brendon Bolton, the former coach of the Blues. It will be interesting to see what he has in store, but Hawk fans want to see a response this week.

Interesting. Bolton. Hawks secret weapon.

OBrien on the G.

Last time I hoped O'Brien would be selected on the G, he did, and he let me down.

He has speed and endurance on his side for the bigger grounds, I'll give him that, and I notice you've got rid of a set of wheels in Cottrell. Like for Like?

DeKoning for Murphy too. That can only help. Have to say I did watch last week's game again and Murphy did Ok in the 2nd quarter.

I hope to see DeKoning play too.

I can't see us playing Casboult, JSOS, DeKoning and McKay in the same forward line. Too slow.
If DeKoning plays, he replaces Casboult IMHO

Clarkson said after North beat them, they weren't ''tough'' enough. Being Clarkson I would take that as a sign he will expect greater emphasis on physicality from his players.
So no bruise free footy this week and Carlton better be prepared for that. Hopefully.
But they no longer have snipers such as Hodge, Mitchell and Lewis, so how it pans out will be interesting.
Perhaps the Blues just get in first. Y'know do unto others before they do it to us.

I just want to try and stretch a side's defence. Then it's a bake-off between the three of them to see who plays next week.
O'Brien comes in for Cottrell because he's a better kick, and someone has to take advantage of all the talls I would play.

Just more evidence that under David Teague there is NO SELECTION INTEGRITY.
Fancy dropping Parks ahead of Plowman.
Then we wonder why Plowman and Murphy get away with sub standard efforts coz they know that they are guaranteed selection week in week out.
Absolute joke

Casboult "managed" yet is an emergency.

FFS just say he was dropped...

Would have liked Parks to get a run against a team not as strong as Melbourne.

Young players that are not performing need to earn their stripes I guess.

Big Cas is cooked but still love him as a Bluebagger

TDK earned his stripes only just.. but youngsters in VFL doing the bare minimum atm.... would have preferred Honey getting a run this week as reward for effort.
