Will win this just to screw with the supporters and give them false hope for the rest of the year.

Every week Dees are closer to a loss.

They are one team who have had the wood on us for the past 4 decades, even when we were a finals player and they were a minnow.

Agree with both moves.

Cripps to replace Jack Silvagni too.

What a game that was , and if. Memory serves correctly there was a fire that say at princess park

What a goal by Minton Connell that day ... ahh memories when our great club was relevant

David Parkin came back in 92 ...

Parko came back 91, and we were pretty crap in 91, only won 8 games, probably not much different to what the side is like now actually.

We hit rock bottom in 1991 (11th) and then climbed to a premiership in 4 years.

We hit rock bottom again in 2002, then climbed to nowhere in 20 years. We have lost our way. Benny hill show of a club.

I hope Murphy can come back fit to play this week, after a 2 week absence.

If he plays a blinder in the VFL, and lays a couple tackles, then he might be ready to take a spot in the 22 vs Hawks.

This is what happens when you lose your identity.
Let's just hope that I'm wrong and we can in fact regain our successful culture and not fall from grace again.

Newman back stocker to Newnes roll.

Setterfield to midfield send Cripps forward in JSOS roll and leave him there.
Don't care how many points he kicks he will demand a defender

We are going to get smashed in the ruck so why take in Levi .

Newman was injured in the VFL. If fit in for Newnes. Stocker is a kid, let him play.

TDK for Levi.

And I would have a good look at Williams. Huge disappointment.

This is the very reason why we will lose this game, we’ll go in thinking we can win it because Melbourne are due to lose.

Melbourne’s first loss for the season will be in Round 10 at the Adelaide Oval against the Crows.

I demand the Coach, MC, Football Manager, or Football Director to come out and tell Carlton fans what is wrong with Cripps :?:
Is Williams still playing with the same leg injury since round 2 :?: Since GWS? Playing with any injury :?:

We shouldn't be playing injured players. It is unethical and they can't play 120 minutes of intense footy. :banghead:

The club is not doing its fans, nor players Cripps and Williams any favours by avoiding the obvious question.
The elephant in the room.

Saying nothing about an obvious problem, leaves players to be belittled by fans, media and opposition, let alone all the rumours.
say nothing and think it will go away. Ignorance only brings more attention to the players and the club.

Teague mumbled his way through Crippa's form and stated his last quarter against Effendrug was "really really good".
Crippas last quarter last week was good because it was compared to the previous 3 quarters which were crap. He wasn't amazing in the last.

If Cripps isn't playing for the coach he wanted as Senior Coach, then in that case, both have their papers stamped.

OUT INJURED:
C.Curnow, Silvagni, Fisher, Martin, Marchbank, Newman, McGov, Casboult, McDonald, Philp, Kemp

PLAYING INJURED:
Cripps, Williams

At this stage of the week:

IN-OUT

TDK-Levi
Honey- Silvagni
SPS-Gibbons
Setterfield-Owies
Dow-Fogarty

Murphy- 23rd man

Pitto is the weakest link.
TDK to go up for centre bounces
Pitto share around the ground vs Gawn and Jackson

Those going in the hardest for longest can play the following week vs Hawks with Silvagni,

That’s true , we miss his no tackle , no leadership, no impact game !! We missed it yesterday

Quite possibly. In any event I'd have no issue with Cripps Cas & Williams all managed this week

Sick of seeing them playing nowhere near 100% fit.

Gibbons 11 disposals and 4 tackles as forward mid with some other footy smart things that don't get stats: he's only just an AFL footballer but I would still take what he offers ahead of Murphy - generally meaningless possessions, no physical presence which deflates his team.

Re Levi - we've had no choice but to play him this year so far. But there is no way TdK will provide less value next week - and quite possibly more. He didn't really stand out yesterday but Levi was just a killer at crucial moments. And umpires always treat him unfavourably. Must make that change this week.

Re Cotts: watching in person you see the benefits of his aggressive running and he does apply pressure and help the defence. Not a great footballer but worth persisting with.

And then 25 years after that .... :hitcomputer:  :banghead:

Even a year later, we won 14 games finished 7th and missed finals.

We going to win 14 games next year?

We still had guys like Sticks, Braddles, Dean, Harry, SOS, Alvin, Gleeson etc who worked hard and drove standards, it was still close enough to our golden period that a good winning culture was still present, and losing not tolerated.

Plus picking up Diesel in 92 helped, as well as emerging guys who’d come via under 19s in Kouta, Ang, Ratts, Sexton and Brown.

We’d recruited a fair bit of garbage up to that time when the draft got introduced as well, and chickens came home to roost 89-91.

In a way that period was foreshadowing of what was to come early 2000s.

We are losing every week and for what ever reason we defend under performing players.
I don't buy into we don't have a choice. Be imaginative you always have a choice.
Murphy is streets ahead of Gibbons.
I know Cotrell puts in the km but his impact is minimal.
Boundary umpires do a lot of running aswell

Owies has kicked 5 goals in 2 games and saved at least 2 goals with defensive goal line tackles.
He well and truly deserves a game next week IMHO.

With regard to our chances this week, I think we're a real chance to win. Unfortunately we're also just as likely to lose to Hawthorn and the Kangaroos.

And I think that’s a big part of the reason our percentage is so crap - even more so than allowing teams to kick scores against us given that we have not once been smashed in a loss. BUT, we also never seem to win big either. It’s like we play to the level of our opposition.
