When we were running hot the umpires robbed us.

Cost us probably a 5 goal turnaround, but we also let them off when we were dominating with bad decisions and some bad turnovers by hand.

We have 3 stars Weiters Harry and Walsh. Betts chimed in today but we can't expect that every week.
We only need 1 player to step up and we win these games.
Unfortunately that player has checked out and has his bags packed. You can bag Murphy all you like but he wants to play for Carlton.
Our captain is biding his time and dimishing his trade value whilst he is at it.

If Setterfield or Dow were in the centre bounces today instead of Cripps we win and win easily.
It is not that I think those 2 are great players its just they give shit.

Also why does Casboult keep getting a game.

A few passengers
Cotrell Gibbons Fogarty and Williams.
And Fog it is ok to tackle but you have to kick them goals

Might be time to try the old little league thing and go in with a different captain each week.

Other than that I got nuthin’...

I reached a point earlier in the year when I made a conscious decision to not them hurt me anymore. I can enjoy the good bits but I'm not going to let them wreck a weekend ever again.

It's player ineptitude which cost us.

I'm sick of seeing a half hearted zone which allows opposition teams to pass the ball around uncontested when they put the gas pedal down.

Even if we win that game, I don’t think it would stand up in September

We give the other team too much time and space

Team defence and applying pressure without the ball is what is required when the whips are cracking

Plus we are a loser club which doesn’t help

This...
Plus
missing 3 sitters and we would have been 40 up...
Plus
Weiters, Jones and Harry can't do it without a midfield...

Go Blues!

Expected result - didnt go to the game but expected to get smashed in the clearances and then smashed on the spread with uncontested ball. I think we stuck with them most of the game and gave them a fright but we are not a top four side yet. Getting closer to being a really good "team" (by that meaning Williams, Saad and Cripps have stinkers and still being super good so not depending on anyone) and need to fix up the clearances pronto before it gets out of hand rest of year.

I think Setterfield in next week to help with clearances might help.

I’m not far from that.

Just tune into the CFC socials and skip the game - we’re freakin’ awesome!

Teague needs to go. He reminds me of Frank Lampard (without the stellar career), he’s just out of his depth.

Hated him at North but what’s Scott doing? Or Voss. Seriously I could do a job this shit

Sad seeing Silvagni not finish a game again. Like Bondi says he has become our heart and soul player. Will be missed next week vs Melbourne.

Others who should miss the Melbourne game include Gibbons, Owies, Cotterell and Crippa may need a rest.
Murph will most likely take one of those spots ...... then comes Setterfield, Dow, Kennedy. Good to see Honey, Williamson, TDK and Newman in the best for the reserves team)

In a way were lucky that Martin and English didn't play today ,,,,,, but gee .... it was a crap last quarter.

I think Bulldogs just stepped up their urgency and went through the roof and half our guys gave up half way through the last.

I'll drop some players after that result. Fogarty not tackling enough and not kicking any goals past three weeks is a straight drop for mine.

Jack will get a spell - Williams and Saad need to step it up. Especially Williams has been stinking it up looks injured.

Here is the deal in simple terms
In today’s football you have to bat deep in the middle.
We don’t and eventually the weight of numbers tells.
The dogs won the inside 50 count by 16.

Cuningham
Kennedy
Dow
SPS
O’ Brien
Setterfield
All picked with quality picks or trades
Have failed to deliver
That essentially is the main reason we arnt good enough
SOSs fingerprints are all over this rebuild

Add the decision to trade away picks and give up plenty of salary cap space
for Williams
Saad
Martin
McGovern
Fogarty
We are simply a dumb club and have been a dumb club for a long time
In relation to these new players
Fogarty after a good start is starting to show signs as to why Geelong were happy to part with him
Just average
Martin injury prone and soft
McGovern ditto
Saad very one dimensional player. You need more than that from a guy on a big long term contract who you gave up pick 8 to get him
Williams clearly injured but you play a guy on $850000 a season. Another dumb decision

If I was Teague I would play Honey whose form in the twos the last month has been good
Play Stocker in the guts

I thought the effort today was actually really good but in the end the lack of depth in the middle is telling

Cripps looks spent to me
I love the guy but in the end maybe the best thing is to let him go get a compensation pick

When Curnow is still your number one mid in a game like he was today it shows how poor our recruiting has been over the last 6 years in relation to mids

If it wasn’t for Weitering and Jones it would of been a eight goal loss

Don’t blame Teague
Blame the recruiting department
And as I said the Board is where the problems originate

No doubt at all keogh, that our recruiting has been sub-par for a long time.

Similar. I find it a progressive move for me to be a non result focused Carlton fanatic. 7 flags in my first 25 years and bottom team for the next 25. Rounds me out I feel. I am better for it. Now I enjoy the problem solving aspect of Carlton. Carlton a still so much fun win lose or draw.

Was at the game and even when he went up 27 points you always knew the Dogs were a good chance and low and behold look what happens.
Can’t play 4 quarters and haven’t been able to for a long time
A couple of stars and not much apart from that
Start rolling some of the kids through the middle where we got one of the great beatings
Williams shocking today

That Saad pass to stocker late in the 3rd was sublime but stocker stuffed his hit up in the middle - turn over and goal. That was the first of the 8 and the turning point in the game. We never got a sniff after that.
