Still injured ?

AFL site says Dow and SPS were omitted.

I'm surprised, but not shocked.

Sammo had the media behind him too.

I'm sort of liking the pressure for spots Teague is creating, given the injury list.

I feel I know what the good version of Setterfield, Sammo and Dow give us.
I feel they are better players than they were last year.

Murphy out too. :sly:
The MC is sending a message

I know you can't and shouldn't tag them all, but I'd almost consider Cottrell running with Macrea early on. He has the tank to shadow him all day. Macrea is their link man all around the ground. He opens them up and gets their running game going with great vision. If he gets his normal 40 we are done.

No doubt Teague is stuck between a rock and a hard place. Their best will beat our best if it is an offensive shootout. If we lock down too hard I'm not convinced we have the rebound, attacking game to beat them.

I have no idea what a win would look like against this oppo or how we will create it. Attack or Defend? Mmmmmmmmmm!

#1 Capt Obvious is we absolutely, positively have to get our hands on the footy first at stoppages. 2nd to the footy and we are cooked.

Attack could be the best form of defence against this mob. Hopefully with enough scoreboard pressure they fold. The only way we can beat them imo is by spreading and play very direct. They are too elite in the coalface unless Cripps, Walsh and Ed play out of their skins.

Interchange has loads of hardnuts and emergencies has a bunch of elite talent.

I guess Teague prefers hardnuts over elite talent

That’s odd, I thought SPS and Dow were good. Certainly better than Newnes and Gibbons

I thought its close to time to show Newnes and Gibbo next in line for peripheral status only to increase their desire a couple points; specifically make tackles stick.

But Newnes and Gibbons and cottrell can run long distances at pace. Ditto Ed and Walsh.

Midfield battle is on!

I'm loving that mix being available given our injury list.

We win one of the next two, and its 4-4. flip side 3-5.

Players know it. We are not that far off.

It has been the same group for a while, albeit some maimed and still being selected.

Stefan Martin out is huge for us.

English has to ruck most of the game.

He's a huge , weapon when forward. Like Levi when in top form.

Do what they did the last two years where we literally blew the Dogs out of the park. It's one side we have been able to really get a hold of.

Dow wouldn't be of much use then. :donk:

Only chance we've got in the middle is for Pittonet to dominate the rookie.

Really annoyed that both Dow and SPS aren’t in the side when the likes of Gibbons, Cottrell, Newnes are. SPS had 14 touches in a half and was super creative.

Also would have liked to see TDK come in for one of Levi or Pitto, especially with Martin and English out, would have been a nice game to come back in.

Doubt it. The kid will probably jump all over him. Pitto is a hack

Interesting to see if Dow plays in the reserves (expecting SPS to be the med-sub)

Feeling bullish about tomorrow's game. Just have a sense we will be up for it. Hope I'm not wrong.

If Dow is fit enough and plays Magoos, I’ll be filthy.

We need clearance players against the Dogs and you want to drop a guy who had 3-4 in about 15 minutes last week before he got injured?

Gibbons on thin ice after his last few weeks but MC obviously know what’s best...........

Dow was subbed last week wasn't he?
Isn't he forced to miss because of the sub rule?

Nope. That rule doesn’t exist. I’m annoyed about Dow but I’m more annoyed about SPS. He had 14 touches in just over a half and was one of our most creative players. Far more dangerous than Cottrell, Newnes, or Gibbons
