Saad was not going at express speed either.

Newnes played defence and he's shown before that he struggles in that role. It was probably worth the chance but with Williamson out of form and SPS being moved up the ground we were light on for options. I liked the move of Williams into the H/B rotation after half time.

Righto. Thats' when he went downhill at the saints IIRC. Started off as a HF, then progessed to a wing, then to HBF, and his last games were back at HF.

I'm about to watch the game again. I'll check him out.

I thought he didn't look like he was moving freely.

Isn't it incumbent on the coach, ultimately to fix this continual problem relating to lack of consistent effort?

Dead right.

Outnumbered at every contest in the 2nd.

Strange stuff TBH.

Fitness? Concentration? Game Plan?

It's 18 v 18 regardless of SOSs recruitment of poor players...it IS a mindset/effort/coaching problem. Period

FMD, for a former school teacher Keogh, you have the comprehension of a primary school student sometimes. Coupled with your mate Azza who also has the spelling skills of one, it's like dealing with juveniles with the two of you.
Look back at my posts. I've been as critical as most about Silvagni's ability to select midfielders.
Try doing a bit of research for a change instead of running off at the mouth.
The two of you have become so excited about the losses that you can't think straight.

Agree about Gibbo. He used to be in and about the ball any time it crossed over the A50, often kicked the first goal of the game, but had five possessions and three tackles last night. Even if he was playing a defensive lock-down role that is abysmal for someone with his ability to get his hands on it. But he’s been at least passable in most other games this year. Injured?

Wow, I thought he was quiet. But that's very concerning. It's hard playing small forward when you're not super quick. Our guys never seemed to get there before the opposition, and couldn't shut down their rebound either. Haven't seen the stats, but thought Fogarty struggled as well.

Agree.

I thought 36yo Eddie looked the quickest.

Apart from a couple tackles Fogarty didnt seem to close down space like other weeks.

Gibbo has become meh...and slow imo

Hi BV
I have looked back through your previous 69 or so posts.
Can’t find anything about how you have been as critical about SOS’s recruiting of mids like the small minority of us you post such insightful stuff.

Were you not Donald Trump’s chief personal assistant in The White House.
I remember you posting that picking Cam O’Shea was no big deal because you have got to pick someone as the last pick on the list
And you posted that you couldn’t give a @#$%&! about Shane McAdam who is coming 17 th in the goal kicking in the league and glossing over the 2 picks in the 20s to get the ultimate cameo player

So when did you post these?
What year?
At the time of the 2018 trade period what did you post concerning the Setterfield and Mc Govern trades
when we had the worst year in our history.
I was filthy as you know.
You are quick to post stuff but don’t acknowledge what you said about O’Shea or Mc Adam.

Anyway great to see are coming around to the fact that getting a job because of your name and being close mates with the boss can be a recipe for disaster

No problem with the list tbh.

Anyone that saw Dow under 18s was going top five without a problem. LOB was an interesting one - be nice to nail every single pick but thats never going to happen

We just cant get our best team on the track - I keep saying it - these blokes, injured players included need to train with intensity together every week for at least a year and be at matchday replicating that intensity for at least a year. Thats what Bulldogs and Melbourne are doing at the moment.

We have a long way to go on that front and until that happens we will be a mid table team.

What's your fascination with McAdam?
He averages less score involvements than Murphy, the same amount of tackles and he averages 4 kicks per game.
Of his 7.2 possessions per game, 2.8 are clangers.
Yet you're crying for Murphy to be dropped. :screwy:

Our development is poor, I expected us to be 2/4, the problem is the teams I have marked as Ws have flown past us.

I was at the game... I try to get to most.

I watch match ups, strategies etc..
Despite clangers and some poor performances.... We lost the game in the 2nd quarter.. No doubt...

It's the WHY which is the worry.
From where I sat, this is what I saw...

Brisbane clearly came out fired up (instructed?).... They went straight at the ball,....

We were meek.. Worse... We were slow and thinking about going to the contest...

It's no coincidence some Brisbane players got knocks, head cuts etc... We didn't.

Not only did we start taking 'smaller steps', Brisbane went full (Robbo style) at it, but we looked slow, missed tackles etc..... as expected when we started second guessing.
Interestingly, the umps saw it too and got on board (for Brisbane)... They paid the frees to those making the play (not us) and ignored the throws etc....not blaming them... they too were reacting to the 'momentum shift'....

A BIG WORRY.....

That was the difference in the game (plus about 3 extra clangers)
