Have the potential to physically monster them tbh on every line.

Need to get something out of this game we have Port next week and taking them on with tails up will help. Its high time to take a winners mentality into every match and it starts now.

Yep ! if we can't beat Goldie then we may as well pack up and start again.....................Port are very beatable at the " G " the following week.Port are the ultimate flat track bullies.Weak as piss for mine when they come up against a physical side.Down hill skiers, flat track bullies..............any self respecting Carlton side would RELISH playing a side like Port.Overated front runners of the highest order.

We need to do it comfortably tomorrow , port are very gettable after their win tonight , their 3 guns should miss against us next week , dursma , rozzee and butters all injured

We need to win this and get some confidence or imo we will be going into the bye round on one win.

Interesting game
Some of the comments on here are laughable
The midfield will
Be a much tougher test this week
Greenwood is a inside beast
Miller Swallow Weller Anderson will be a tougher test
Collins will be a tougher matchup for McKay
Last weeks game was excellent against the Crows
Clearly you blokes don’t watch other games
We could thrash them if we turn up and they don’t

Nobody should be surprised if we get beat at the same time
GC have improved
The fact that Burgess and Graham are rucking doesn’t help them but if it’s left to Cripps Walsh and Curnow to extract it from congestion we are in trouble

Very capable mids - certainly quicker than ours with Setterfield in for Williams.

Our worst zone (half forward) is their best zone (half back).

We’re still a wee bit vulnerable to good small forwards & whilst theirs are still learning, it’s something for them to exploit.

Cometh the moment, I suppose.

So you're saying we could win this. Or we could lose.
Thanks for the insight.

We should win this because if we’re aspiring to be a top 8 team, this is one teams we must be able to beat.
But, as with most games, if we don’t bring our best, we could lose.
And the concern for us is that we often don’t bring our best game and have a history of regulating our effort based on how strong or weak we perceive the other team to be. That is why we often have close games, even against good teams but very rarely put any teams away.

Hopefully, that is changing but we don’t yet have consistent or sustained evidence to indicate that.
Hence, I actually agree with Keogh, assuming he believes like I do that we SHOULD win, but it wouldn’t be surprising to see us lose.

I’m also intrigued about giving Dow a tagging role, or at least a super-accountable role, on a prolific midfielder.
This could well teach him more about how to get to the ball more often and with more effect. Could be good...

Many good midfielders have been taught the craft tagging older better players.
A good test for him will be tagging a younger better player.

They are all better players. After 4 years the number 3 or 4 pick (whatever it was) needs a younger player to show him where the ball is ??? Chris Judd was winning Brownlows. Get him to follow Sam Walsh around like a sheep. He will show him where the ball is and even how to use it.

Judd had awesome support around him and was a freak.
Sam Walsh is also a freak.
If you are going to use Judd as a benchmark then what do you think of Cripps, no Brownlow, slow and has an unreliable kick?

Don’t really care how good anybody think they are playing if we cannot beat them and beat them well we will be a pushover of years to come. We are not a young team anymore and to Teagues credit we came out and made a small statement last week. This is the minimum. We now need to clearly beat the sides we should and make the better sides start to worry about us or this whole rebuild is a real waste of our investment.

Show up with the right effort and intensity from last week and we’ll be very hard to beat tonight. Play like millionaires and just expect things to happen and we’ll lose. Big test of this group’s mentality tonight

Judd won a Brownlow in a great West Coast team shit Carlton team , which was an amazing achievement. Freak - Yes
Yes Sam Walsh is a freak for his age and experience - love the kid
Cripps would have won a Brownlow by now if he was in a winning team. Look at were the votes go - mostly to the winning team. He may be slow - so was Greg Williams and he did OK. His field kicking is OK but his kicking for goal need improvement.

Essendon* a young side had 70 odd tackles ,we need to add pressure and increase our tackling number for 4Q cause come last Q and GC are in striking distance they could run over us.Best scenario 3/4 goals victory and hopefully no injuries.

Very insightful BV
The Crows Coasters game was a ripper last week
Hey they may stink up the big one tonight but it looks like they have improved
On the top of what I said
Rankine
Sexton
Powell King all good players
Their defence is pretty good
Ballard Lukosius Bowes all have improved
If they come to play we will have to be at our best to beat them
Not having a ruckman May hurt them
May not either
