Do we know for sure that Jack M will be available? Calf injuries can take several weeks and given he missed games due to calf last season, they may be cautious with him.

And yep I'm assuming Williams was able to play because it was a praccy match.

Teague said Martin is good to play in presser from memory.

From what I have read Zac was a class above in Praccy game and Cottrell, Kennedy, Stocker & Betts were the best players for us. Cunners unsighted - maybe badly out of form or perhaps something else we are not privy too.

So I reckon Zac, Martin and Betts will all come in and play

You'd retain O'Brien?

Those saying out Silvagni but not having Oscar as an "in" would indicate they wouldn't play him next week.

For me and depending on injuries, it would be:

Out: LOB, Silvagni, Cas
In: Williams, Martin and Oscar

Yes. For philosophical reasons I would. I'd give him 4 weeks to settle into the team and if, after an extended run, he's made no improvement or doesn't look more comfortable at the level... I'd basically be done with him.

WE have to do something about red time goals.

9 Richmond goals kicked in red time.

oh yeah, we kicked 1.

Not fit enough to run out quarters?
Umpires have too much influence?

We have to work out if we have more legs than our opponents on a week to week basis, and against The Pies, if they look to be running well towards then end of quareters then we should be playing keepings off and killing the clock.

WE have gifted him enough games..

His marking efforts on the last line last night and against Saints last game atrocious.

Teague said he was close to playing last night and will play next week along with Williams, and if Ed is really in good shape he will be back too.

I wouldn't bring Betts in for this one.

We have an abundance of small forward goalsneak type players but with Levi underdone, plus C Curnow, Gov and now JSoS out we'll be too small in attack. If we lose Pittonet on the day and Harry needs to pinch-hit (or Harry just has another day of brainfarts), we'll get rolled. McDonald gets another run at it and this is precisely why we picked him.

Williams in for LoB. Martin in for JSoS. Leave it at that and go again.

How many weeks does SOS have to miss to move to the LTI? Crocker maybe a late bloomer?

Oh and if there was someone knocking on the door in the 2's, I'd drop Murphy. Cunners unsighted I'd have a good look at Bam Bam Kennedy. Didn't see him play but he might go alright against this Collingwood side.

They've lost a few players that normally tear us up so it's time we make a statement. Don't win and we're going nowhere.

Cannot understate how big this game is for us for a number of reasons.
(1) We can’t go 0-2 again. We’ve been 0-2 every year since 2012. We can all see improvement from those darker years and we’ve heard a lot of talk from the club, but really all that matters is wins and losses. Cannot again get off to a bard start and have to chase tail again like last year to try to sneak into the 8.
(2) Us and Collingwood are both vying for spots at the bottom end of the 8. We can’t give them a leg up.
(3) It’s time to break the mould of the flimsy Carlton that will put up a reasonable effort against a good side but then not show up for the winnable game. How many times have we said “if we play like that next week, we win” and it doesn’t happen. Time for this club to mature and just get the job done like a professional outfit.
(4) We owe these guys one after last year. Up at half time. Up at three quarter time. No goals in the second half. A capitulation and it shouldn’t sit well with the players.

Williams back in. Hopefully Martin too. No excuses. Just win

I’d drop Murphy for Betts
LOB for Williams
Levi for Oskar (Levi to 23) Pitto to smash into Grundy at every available opportunity then mysteriously roll his ankle during the third. Bring Levi on to ruck out the game
JSOS for Martin

Maybe Williamson for someone to float across and take intercept marks

Eddie’s 200th game for the club. He’ll play.

OUT: Silvagni, O’Brien, Williamson

IN: Williams, Martin, Betts

For starters...

I doubt Willo or SPS will get dropped. Teague seemed pleased with the backline last night.

At this early stage, my guess is.....

B: Doc Jones Plowman
HB: Saad Weitering Williamson
C: Setterfield Cripps Williams
HF: Martin Casboult Newnes
F: Fisher McKay McDonald

R: Pittonet E Curnow Walsh

Inter: Dow, Fogarty, Murphy, SPS

Sub: Gibbons

In - Martin, Williams
Out - SOJ (inj), O’Brien

Agree

Betts is ahead of Murphy with speed, defensive pressure, goal kicking and goal assists. Not sure what Murphy is better than Betts.

Agree with the rest too.

KK said it in the post-game thread (I think it was him). At some point you need to ask a few questions about our 'weapon' fitness fella. Getting owned consistently late in quarters.
