So, Saad and Fogarty are certain starters and there's now a 23rd man...

I can't believe I managed to get a ticket too.
I got a txt from Carlton around 1pm and I thought I might as well try and got some straight away.
Sitting in the nosebleed section in the Ponsford stand.

This news is shitting me.

I don't want to be carrying injured players, but flower hell we already have 5 or 6 missing with injury vs the reigning Premiers with only one, who is 40 years old

We need some luck.

I was stunned there were tickets left after the club members had their chance to buy tickets.
Maybe many thought the wouldn't get a ticket so didn't bother trying.

https://www.carltonfc.com.au/news/880853/saad-fogarty-to-make-blue-debuts

Quote:
Speaking to media on Wednesday morning, Teague said the duo had earned their place after taking to their new surrounds seamlessly since day one.

“Fogarty and Adam Saad will both debut for Carlton Football Club this weekend which is very exciting,” he said.

“[Fogarty’s] pressure and the way he’s played, his ability to hold balance and give some really good system ahead of the ball and on ball has been very good for us.”

Good luck to both of them.

I'm guessing.... Bettsy or Cuningham will miss, or Newnes didn't get up

I'm not buying into Martin missing till I see it for myself.

Looks like Virgin sponsorship of Carlton has ceased.

Geez they're good sports after we continued to promote their brand when they were put on hold and sold.

Welcome aboard Tripadeal ... pretty Trippy stuff

Somewhere up on lvl 4 of the Southern Stand. I was so surprised to get tickets I didn’t look too hard.

I don't like the look of their logo/name at the top of the jumper.

At all.

So we're already scraping our reserves in round 1.

Why does this not shock me anymore?

It doesn't look like a logo at all.

It is word form insinuating we are Trippers from Byron Shire....maybe Nimben.
Get onboard in that case!!

You've become a real pessimist Donstuie.

I know the scarring we all copped over the last 2 decades. It stains the brand and stuffed up our optimism.

On the one hand we have deep discussion of our newfound depth, the next minute we are scaping to get players in.

Which players are you referring to? Teams haven't been named. Wait till the teams have been named.

Players missing, and I know they are BIG names (will only make this win much the more sweeter than it would be):

Charlie ... he's just one of our CHF's
Williams ... he's just our Category 1 midfielder and recruit of the year (Saad says hello)
DeKoning ... he's just our No. 1 ruckman and athletic giant who can play forward too (Pitto says hello)
Marchbank ... he's just our best intercept mark and best 3rd tall (Plow says hello)
McGovern ... he's just our 3rd tall forward and big name recruit (Jack Silvagni says hello)
Newman ... he's our attacking HBF and one of our best kicks, who can kick goals too. (Williamson says hello)

Kemp ... He's our 2019 First round pick who would be pushing for a spot and his first game if fit.
Philp .... he's one of our quickest and first rounder in 2019 who mad ean impression in games he played before injured.

Levi .. hasnt played a preseason game, nor did he train last night ... he's playing
McKay ... has rolled his ankle twice in 2 weeks prior to this week ... he's playing
Betts ... he's overcome a calf spain at 34yo ...he's playing
Martin ... didn't train last night...and people are reading into that when Teague said some have been rested to have them ready .. he plays bruising style of game ... I bet he plays

Gosh, there's a few injuries and injury clouds amongst the Bluebaggers.

If the replacements of the 8 are any good, then we are not scraping. Instead we have a good squad of 30 capable of getting us to Finals.

Lets see what the boys bring vs Tigers.
I'm confident we learned from last year.
I'm not sure how great the Tigers are this time of the year though....proven best team in the last 4 years.

Go Bluebaggers.
