I'm right into thisidea.

Plowman played wing at GWS.
Better than Tomlison.

Always wished for Marchbank or Plowman to be pushed to wing, but in the guts.
That's a gutsy call.

Jack has done it, but he's been picked as the 2nd or 3rd tall forward.

Worth Robbing Peter to pay Paul

I think if Jack had the tank, he’d be in there already.

Jack was given the role on Fyfe for the whole game because he did have the tank. On that day, Jack won the battle, got his possessions too and proved he can play a role in midfield. Didn't get another sniff. why?

Not sure if he is fit today, but what we know is he is capable of condtioning his body to cope with the demands of a midfield role.

 Done bondi
One thing is obvious, they are very reluctant to displace the few in there at the moment.

So the majority think there is merit to give Jack and Plough a go in the more damaging part of the ground............thats good.Nice to see there are a heap of creative thinkers around here..Blokes capable of independent thought.

I want to see Jack more in defense. Has had a couple of cameos at times and showed his Dads spoiling ability.

In the absence of Mcgovern, I like him forward.

No doubt Pittonet is a workhorse. He was ranked behind McEvoy and Ceglar at the Hawks.
Yes Ceglar, who is in and out of the Hawks team: he can jump and mark around the ground better than Pitto

Pitto was traded in as a back up incase Kreuzer went down, exposing 19yo DeKoning.
Kreuzer retired and Tom injured his back preseason, paving the way for Pitto to be No 1 ruck.
We are grateful we had him on our list.

Like Levi, Pitto is not the future No1 or Fwd/ Ruck till he improves. Despite the some good numbers he has produced (on paper) he does not fill most fans with confidence.

I will be fascinated to see how the 2 non jumping rucks go against each other this Saturday: Mumford vs Pittonet.

Esava Ratugolea is out of contract at the end of this year.
I would like to see Carlton have a serious crack at him as a Fwd-Ruck in support of Tom DeKoning.

Mumford will “accidently” fall knee first into Pittonet sometime in the first quarter hobbling him for the rest of the match. Actually he will probably do it to TDK as he might be concerned that Pittonet might stand up to him.

We are expecting that. Its Mumford's game of attrition.

If they are smart, they wont fall on the ground like autumn leaves.

Stand up and be counted!!

I agree that Jack should stay forward. I see McGovern as a better option back if needed.

Stop crying about mumford.Carlton supporters crying about dirty opposition players is pathetic. It demeans our great past.In our great days we didn't whinge,we got in first and then got on with the game. Our greatest ever player ( Big Nick ) makes Mumford look like a choir boy.Fear and intimidation were Big Nicks tools of trade...........the day we get someone remotely like him will be a very happy day for me.More mongrel the better as far as i'm concerned.

Great news, you can't buy your way to success.

We need to keep every first round pick and invest in it - do the research and use it wisely.

Where would we be if we didn't have Walsh, McKay, Curnow and Weitering?

Agreed
We need to get our own house in order before trying to recruit any more big money players. Resolve the cultural and coaching issues and then we may be close to actually achieving something so we can recruit to take us to the next level. At this point, with our culture, coaching and development the way it is, overpaying some more recruits will just be wallpaper over some very large cracks.
Doubt this will be an issue anyway as I can’t see many quality players knocking down the door to get into the club at the end of the year.
