We need a ruckman. Put Marchbank on the LTI list and bolster our ruck stocks.
Anyone know much about Brayden Crossley?
He had a run in with ASADA previously but from reports I'm hearing, he's a real prospect. A bit short at 198cm but worth a look.

He is (on the LTI).

A bit short for around the ground ruck work my liking.

If he has a huge jump, good for centre bounce.

DeKoning comes back through the VFL this week.

Bloody Levi hasn't shown anything this year.

Midseason draft should just be called the ruckman shuffle.

Tyson Stengle anyone?

I'd say no because he's clearly a flower... but he's also more-or-less mentored by Betts. Playing alongside him again might be what he needs.

This would be my take on picking him up. No coincidence most of, if not all of his discretions have come since Eddie came back.

The best prospect for a mid-season draft pick might already be at the club.

James Parsons is quicker than he looks and is a very nice kick of the footy.

Plays midfield, and looks like a better pressure forward than gibbo atm...and Murphy.

Right under our nose, like Lambert was.

He's from the Geelong football factory...which like others is hit and miss, the only difference is, even the misses are built and developed to play AFL.

So, maybe he's a short term solution till our others (if they do) pass him as our development improves.

What about his indiscretions?

Certainly an issue, but I’d be more concerned with his lack of ability.

It’s just as likely that Eddie put his hand up to mentor the man, not the player.

That’s why Eddie is on our list, to fund his coaching gig.

Happy for a second club chance to be given, with Eddie mentoring him I’d be confident he won’t stuff up.

https://www.afl.com.au/news/603563/who-is-the-real-winner-out-of-the-jaeger-deal-it-s-not-the-hawks-or-suns

Report on afl.com.au Who is the real winner out of the Jaeger Omeara trade?

Quote:
So with 90 minutes remaining before the trade deadline, Hawthorn started to negotiate a future second-round selection from Carlton in exchange for handing over picks 48, 66 and 70 in that year's draft. The Blues, who later used the picks on Harrison Macreadie, Tom Williamson and Pat Kerr, were the last chip in getting O'Meara to Hawthorn because the Hawks then sent their own future second-round pick to Gold Coast, along with the pick No.10 they had attained from St Kilda.

For years since that trade Carlton fans were waiting for Hawks to give us something back in the future that never came. Is this why? How did so many diligent Carltonians not know picks 48 66 and 70 were swapped for our future 2nd round pick? There was no need for points.

I don't know if this is correct. Anyone can confirm?

We moved on

1.Walker.............................SPS (R1 p6)
2.Jamison...........................Fisher (R2 p27)
8.Everitt.............................Macreadie (R3 p47)....
6.Smith..............................Polson (R4 p59)
5.Foster..............................Williamson (R4 p64)
4.Dick................................Kerr (R4 p65)

3.Tuohy & picks 45 & 58.......Marchbank, & pick 63

9.Tutt...............................Pickett (part of Marchbank trade)
10.Viojo.............................Smedts took this list spot

11.Wiley...............................Palmer (pick 135)

1.Gowers rookie....................Le Bois
2. Wood rookie......................A. Silvagni

I don't think that we got ny picks from Hawks and they still owe us.

If Hawks gave us p48, it wasn't used for Macreadie p47, nor was our pick 45 we sent to Geelong for Smedts
If Hawks gave us p66 and 70 it wasn't for Wliiamson p64

Pick 66 and pick 70 give us 2 spots we had already created by shedding Tutt and Viojo

Messy stuff.

I just want to know if :

a. Carlton got a fair trade for future Rnd2 we gave Hawks?
b, SOS was dudded by the Trade and why would he?
c. Do the Hawks still owe us, as most of us have alluded to over the years?

Could it be that the picks we got from the hawks were used earlier than their position due to other clubs passing on their picks?

Bid matching will also create openings, as points are credited in exchange for moving back in the order.

As was the case with our first pick last year.

What I wrote was probably the least good way of explaining what goes on... if a club uses the points value of pick 27, 29, 35 & 40 to match a bid at pick 3, then every pick from 41 onwards would move up three spots (four surrendered picks, minus the one they bought). Any left over points will give the matching team another pick later in the draft. In this case, the 70-odd points left over would slot in at pick 67.

In Freo's case, they didn't have the full points value to match our bid on one of their academy guys in the 2019 draft, so the deficit was accrued against the value of their first pick in 2020.

Basically, the whole @#$%&! show is harder to track than the weather, but any club-to-club deals get squared away on the night.
