Anyone seen the photo of Charlie training at Hensen Park.

FMD. Move over Kouta.

No knee strapping.

If only I knew they were up the road in Marrickville.
Beautiful old world ground.

Playing in the hardest position on the ground....

Has to play above his height one minute, below it another....

It's the goal keeper position....make a thousand saves.... Meh..... Let one through and you lost the game for us....

Go Blues

for me the difference is BV sites facts, Bondi you are talking about perceptions. I get Plough is perceived poorly, but many many many players have been perceived poorly by spectators when the reality inside the club is vastly different. I like Plough, is he the best defender going around, no, but he is good, reliable and selfless.

I am still of the belief Plow is the best available. With Plow missing this week we have to turn to 20yo Parks. There you go.

Don't worry about my eyes, my point isn't based on perceptions, the cameras don't lie.

The media have highlighted Plow several games, this year, where Plow has been caught ball watching and playing too loose on his man. On the TV screen. Plows been named. The media focus has been directed on Plowman, just as has the commentary, and I'd never seen this before this year. There's a reason for that attention. That's all. You can't erase that. You can't deny that. It looked to me Plow did something about it against Hawks. That proves he is capable. That's not being questioned.

The main issue with Carlton since Teague took over is the 5 goal runs; the one quarter where concentration was at a low for the team; and you can't say Plow hasn't been part of that problem. That's all that has been pointed out. Its fixable.

I'm not getting involved in a witch hunt to look for examples, this year, where a small forward has beaten Plowman hands down. I think spectators, including yourself, knows those facts. Nothing to do with perception. I don't like naming players who beat Plow. I just don't like doing it. But I'm not going to p[retend he hasn't got weaknesses he needs to keep in check.

Like I said, he's the best available, and he has his weaknesses, like most players. He hasn't played his best this year imo, but looked fantastic in round 1, and round 3, and also last week too.

And I think that is our biggest issue. Knowing when to bust your gut to work defensively which at times during all games has not occurred. This is the part of the game that generally takes players some time to sort out and then instinctively implement correctly 100% of the time. And it is why at times we look ordinary.

Plowman
Very average footballer
Panics
Inconsistent kick
Some of the stats are misleading kicking efficiency enhanced by kicking it sideways
Some of his tackling leaves a lot to desire

Has tried to run more up the ground this year

Yet another player who has lost weight under Russell
Reckon it hasn’t help his game

Happy to cop a suspension here and there if it means the opposition think twice and shorten their step.

Actions like plows will help us get back.

Yep. Agree. That game was massive, but that moment in that game was massive-er

Felt supremely confident we'd win the premiership after that game.

Need to get some real talent in this year’s draft to do so we should be trading someone who has a bit of currency as in trade value we should be trying to end up with 2 top 10 picks

Early draft picks are pointless if you introduce them to a poor losing culture, lack of player and game development.

Fix this and the club wouldn’t so heavily reliant on early draft picks.

Although, I think we do have to go through a mini rebuild and moving some players on would be part of this process

Who have we got that we can afford to lose and would get us another first round pick? Would Geelong give us their first for Docherty? I know it’s robbing Peter to pay Paul but we’ve got more HBF than we need and he has injury issues.

The other thing we need to do is trade next years first into th current draft like the Demons do. They get value for the next years pick and then trade it away again and again.

We need to replace the holes in our list from the bust picks but also free some cap space. We could also use one or two to target players.

Yep - just adding more blokes who in a couple of years will be replacing Dow and SPS' in the "we never should've drafted...." conversations ain't the answer.
