Signing up our list as we go along

Not bad for organisation that was supposedly in shambles according to the duplicitous media less than a month ago

Carlton are in damage control after a spectacular approach by RICHMOND for contracted and injury prone star CHARLIE CURNOW.

Curnow and his team have met with Richmond, with the Curnow camp considering their options for a trade request.

He was out of contract though whereas Charlie is not. This one is all smoke.

Going to need some delistings. When does that period end.

I was thinking the same thing.
Not too many spots on our list spare at the moment.
I think trade period starts next week.

Carlton can delist Newnes despite any trigger in his contract.

As long as we don't go over salary cap, a spot can be created with the delisting of Newnes.

A long way to go.....

we have plenty of mids and up and coming mids. Losing SPS AND LOB isn't the end of the world either.

Now we have Cerra and Hewett added to the list our primary need is KPD support: Oscar, Braner, young...plus a developing Bazza

Plenty of options for Blues.

How many delistings do we need to make? We got Hewett. Assuming we get Cerra and Young and nobody else, that is 3. Assuming we lost SPS, that is 2.
Murph and Eddie have retired and Casboult was delisted so that puts us at +1.
Assuming no rookies being promoted to main list, do we still need to have a minimum of 3 draft picks?
If so, unless I've missed someone, we'd need to delist 2 players.

Good question!

LoB
OMac
Gibbons
Mirkov
Boyd
Cotts
Parks
(is that the list of uncontracted?... Owies on that list.. Or something different with Catb?)

Then there's the possibility of delisting and re-rookie-ing.. (is that a word?)

Go Blues

At end of 2021 we had 46 Players on the list
- 37 Main List
- 8 Rookies
- 1 x Cat B (Owies)

Murphy, Casbolt have come off main list, while SPS will be traded. Hewett signed, Cerra and Young to come, so that makes 37. Maximum main list size is 38 and we need to take 3 draft picks, so we need to delist at least 2 players.
LOB, Gibbons, Williamson, Ramsay all uncontracted
? marks over Newnes, Setters

Of the 9 Rookies (incl Owies)
4 Rookies are contracted for 2022. Mirkov, Kennedy, Honey and Owies (promoted from Cat B). Eddie has retired.
Boyd, Cottrell, Parks, O-Mac all out of contract and all in trouble, depending on delistings from main list. I'd like to keep O-Mac.

It's max 42 players on primary plus rookie lists. So we can only list 4 Rookies if we have 38 on the main list.

All in all, if you haven't got a contract now, you are not likely to get one.

Williamson is contracted for another 12 months. I'd rather he wasn't and keep Ramsay.

LOB would be feeling very nervous at the moment I'd imagine and Gibbons would be on shaky ground too.

This is what I hope happens:

SPS decides to stay and turn over a new leaf with Voss et al. We delist Gibbons, Marchbank, Newnes & Williamson from the primary list. We delist Boyd, Cottrell, Parks & O-Mac from rookie list. We take 3 selections in the national draft and put Marchbank on rookie list (unless the medical advice is he is cooked, in which case retain O-Mac). No live picks in the rookie draft.

This what I think will happen:

SPS goes and we get #29. We delist LOB & Ramsay from primary list. We delist Boyd, Cottrell, Parks & O-Mac from rookie list. We take 3 live selections in the national draft and nil in the rookie draft.
