Blake Howes from Sandringham dragons looks like he'll go around our first pick. 190cm wingman who can run all day. I like the thought that he can do it in the air too. Brayshaw helps Melbourne a lot defensively with his marking / spoiling ability. Would be very happy to land Howes.

He goes to school with my son and is a beautiful kick, still prefer Finn Callaghan.

Callaghan won't be available at our first pick. He will go in first half dozen picks, well before 25-30 where we end up.

Is he tough and an "only eyes for the ball" type player? We already have wingmen who can run all day are a nice kick but go missing if body contact is required.

Mentioned Howes in the Pick 25 thread. Another one is Chesser who may be an even better bet. As usual, if he he lasts.

What I like about both these players is that they are Vics so there will not be the want to go home factor eg SPS back to WA or Cerra back to VIC.

Agree the go home factor is a serious consideration, once a player makes the request it’s almost impossible for the club to ignore it.

Chesser

But if Goater is still around ... lets hope they all slip through and we have the pick of the bunch ... then Austin will read out a KP's name, like one Crusader mentioned.

Austin needs to roll his sleeves and go for the hard ball ,like to see him get earlier pick than 25 so we can choose 1 of the above players.

That comment is not for this website.

It makes sense.

His recent comments suggest he'd be happy to go the other way and trade down towards 40 and put that value towards an upgrade for next year.

I think that would be a good outcome

You know once we draft a player, he's a player we have.

until he doesn't star in the first three games, then he's the player we don't want.
