That's what we need.

Who is going to be the forward ruck when Levi retires (this year?) and DeKoning is back as No. 1 ruck?

It is not Pittonet imo.

Personally I don't want Harry or Charlie rucking either, but then again, the 3rd tall whether its Silvagni or McGovern are not tall enough. I know, neither was Grigg, but Tigers midfield group were all on the same page and tough as.

We’re light on for key backs because the list is full of mids & small forwards.

Small forwards? We have 2. One is a first year player and the other is 45 years old.
Our so called small forwards are midfielders being used as smalls. SOS either didn't value small forwards or had no idea what one looked like. Probably a bit of both.

We have mids who can't crack a game (Dow). We have small forwards who are only now just starting to get games or can't get a game (Owies, Honey).

We need a forward-ruck. I heard 2 mtr Peter went cheap.

We need a KPB. I ask again, why did we let McReadie go when he never had a decent run in the seniors. When he did play, he was ok.

And we are gifting games. Nuff said on that one.

Rose coloured glasses. It will get better. Newman playing. TDK this week. JSOS over his horror run (maybe). Kemp in the VFL. Williams will improve as wiil McGovern on his return (fingers crossed).

There is always MR X factor - Charlie

Absolutely. But he was drafted as a midfielder.

The last 2-3 years in particular, we become irrationally obsessed with having to get certain players
McGovern
Papley
Shiel
Martin
Saad
Williams

It appears to me that we sometimes can't see the forest for the trees
Was Alir Alir on our radar?
A perfect addition to our KPD group I wouldve thought??? And relatively bloody cheap

McGovern
Martin
Williams
Saad
All on 5 year deals except Williams on 6
Collectively costing us around 15 million
Check out what these blokes collectively achieved individually before coming to Carlton
Simply astonishingly dumb List Management
Shiel overrated his kicking being the main reason
Papley ok but only plays as a small forward you want a decent midfield before entertaining him

Saad had just finished top 3 in the B&F at Essendon* the past 2 years.
He'll be an excellent player for us. Do you do any research before complaining?

WANNABE Blue Adam Saad has emerged as the most valuable footballer up for grabs in this year's AFL Trade Period.

Watching the Lions/Tigers game last night... the amount of controlled aggression and count (minus the O) instilled in their players tells me we are miles away from contesting at this point in time, with this list.

Exactly
Good to see at least one other poster watching other teams and realizing exactly where we are at

Easy because you pluck figures out of your arse. You wouldn't have a clue what they earn. Either would I.
But you question their individual performance. 3 times top 3 in an AFL B&F in the past 5 years.
That's quality. You asked the question yet you don't like the truthful answer.
Yet you're constantly talking up a 26 year old who cant hold his place in last years wooden spoon team. Go Figure.

We all know roughly what they on for how long
Heard that argument before
Their collective achievements weren’t plucked out of my arse
Only Saad out of the 4 has really achieved something and he is one dimensional
Your simply being irrational sticking up for the club even when it makes ridiculous decisions

Spilt milk Keogh. Look forward. No point in trying to convince everyone to be as negative as you. Not going to get us anywhere.

H, Jacob and Walsh are currently playing on well below market value.

How good is that !

Unfortunately money in sport is ridiculous
Mackay delivers for 9 games
Big guys take time
He is on roughly 400000
So now a new contract commands around double that
Cripps as well fair to speculate he would be getting 800000 a year for 4 years
Walsh is contracted till 2022
He will command 800000 a year
You clearly create a problem if you over pay players based on their output which is exactly what is happening with Williams Martin and McGovern
Collingwood got close to the flag but their down the bottom and have to pay part of Treloars contract adding insult to injury
You need to create a culture where guys are willing to stay rather than cash in for extra coin elsewhere
You don’t create that by overpaying overrated players

Betts & Durdin are specialists.
If blokes like Ramsay, Honey, Fisher & Philp are interested in a career as a footballer, they'll need to become one.
Owies & Gibbons are already ahead of them in the transition.

Eight names. We could lose half of them and have ZERO impact to the senior side.
