Is Fisher the same ankle he injured previously? That's got 1-2 weeks written all over it

I know a couple of unconnected blokes in the sports med business that wouldn’t let Phil Bloom within cooee of their injury assessment.

Arrogant and dismissive are the common themes.

I didn't know of him till you mentioned him.
Thanks Cru

Arrogant and Dismissive are not qualities you'd want from your doctor.

I hope he and Russell aren't butting heads.

Updates:

Murphy to miss only a couple of weeks.

Fisher a test to play this week.

Setterfield & McDonald will be on the sidelines for another week, both might be back playing after that.

Unlikely we’ll see Pittonet & Gibbons again this year.

Boyd hurt his knee, length of time out is TBC.

Amazing. Both our mid season draft picks have knee injuries within a month of being drafted. Can't help but feel cursed at times

Is it 2 suspended? Hasn’t Levi got another week to serve?

Actually need Levi if he can produce anything to give De Koning a rest and maybe help Harry a little.

Is it any surprise that the two teams ( Carlton and Stkilda) who were both expected to rise up the ladder have the longest list of injuries

Saints have 12 we have 13

If the review looks at anything this should be one of the first things looked at

Injury list is a calamity.

Its not only the numbers all clubs have injuries its the number of key players that are not playing.

You can have an injury list of five and all five are starting 22 elite players. Saw how well Richmond coped with 2-3 key players out. We have been doing it with 5+ for most of the season.

CARLTON co-captain Sam Docherty underwent surgery yesterday to repair an acute syndesmosis injury.

The 27-year-old reported significant soreness in his ankle which required further investigation.

A specialist opinion was sought on Wednesday afternoon, with the decision made that surgery would be required, which Docherty underwent that same afternoon.

At this stage, Docherty remains a chance of returning to the field this season: however, the Club will monitor his rehabilitation and will be in a position to provide an update on his progress in the final few rounds.

Carlton Head of Football Brad Lloyd said that while the injury was disappointing, surgery would allow Docherty the best form of recovery.

“This is clearly unfortunate news for Sam, who was really looking forward to helping the side put together strong performances in the back half of the season,” Lloyd said.

“Bad luck like this is never good to receive but at least by picking up the injury early we’ve been able to ensure we can get Sam on the road to recovery as quickly as possible.”

You gotta be kidding! We're going to have more injured players than fit soon!

What's the deal with this syndesmosis injury anyway. I feel like I'd never heard of it until a year or two ago and now it's all the craze, everyone's gotta have it. Are they just diagnosing ankle injuries differently?

And while I'm on it, what ever happened to osteitis pubis? 10 years ago that was like a plague about to end the AFL. Now it's unheard of, except for maybe Joe Daniher, but even with him I don't really remember them calling it OP

It's not syndesmosis, it's just the seasonal flu.

Its a July fool joke Effes? Yeah. tell me it is.

Unbelievable. Its a curse.

I hope the Review will get to the bottom of the "curse".

Hopefully its a 2 decade curse that started in 2002 with our first wooden spoon and end of 2021: this year.

John Elliot and his Hamill comments started this, I have no doubt.

Once Hamill left we lost our soul.
