I reckon we'll be far more competitive this time around. Would fit our pattern of being thoroughly underprepared when we really have an opportunity to climb the ladder, but then being competitive when we're a small chance of winning.

This will tell us a lot again about the mentality of the group.

The annual don’t turn up to play in the last round game.

We will be thumped as always.

Or, we turn up and shows we are ready for a big preseason, and take a big scalp into it.

Brisbane have a lot to play for next week and we have nothing except pride and to make sure nobody does an ACL.
Fagan will be breathing fire before the game and at any stage of it that they aren't on top of us.

If I were Teague, I would say this before the game:
"OK, boys, I want you to look at how Brisbane come out at us today and ask yourselves why we didn't do the same in any of the critical games we have had in the last four weeks. You had better have come to play today or by 1/4 time we will be another 5 goals down but this time we are playing a team that will drive us into the ground. If you want your last game in this jumper to be an 80 point thumping, and make no mistake, for some of you, this is your last game, just go out like you did against Adelaide, against Sydney and how you finished against GWS and Collingwood."

Last game of the season.

Nice to see Carlton finally playing in September.

Hope we do it again next year.

I would like to see the daring Carlton who beat Geelong this year, probably the same team that played against the Dogs

Would like a good finish to the season.

Pick the bravest, hard at it team.

Wouldn't mind another look at Honey

If that happens I will blame Teadue

That IS his job to get em up for their fans.

Fans understand wins

Teague has to decide how he wants to play against them and pick the team for it.
No point picking Honey or LOB or Philp if he isn't going to let them run with the ball.
If he is going to insist that they just play pedestrian footy down the lines until the opposition defence is well set up and then bomb it long to their sweeper, it makes no difference whom they pick.
Personally, I don't think he knows what he wants now. i was pretty sure at the start of the year he was going to play daring footy and he did that until he decided to stop. It is beyond my capacity to work out why he changed a successful plan into a pedestrian one that has choked our goal scoring while allowing opposition sides to go coast to coast so often.
If we had played four quarters the way we played the last twenty five minutes today, we's have won by five goals. But no. At half time he sad we had to run the ball more. He should have said that before the effing game started.

Was just about to post the same thing.

2015: 57 point loss to Hawthorn.
2016: 24 point loss to Essendon* who had won 2 games for the year with a team of top up rejects.
2017: 81 point loss to Sydney after being 12 down at half time. Buddy kicks 10.
2018: 104 point loss to Adelaide. Bolton plays half the game with a 2 man forward line. Jenkins kicks 7
2019: 68 point loss to Geelong in pissing rain.

Nothing says to me that anything has changed.

Will be approximately 63 points that we lose by, give or take.

Either way, I'll be sunning it up on a rooftop bar in the arvo with a $750/night suite waiting for me after a seven course dinner with paired wines from 6.30pm...500m away from the ground.

Buggered if I'll watch that shit again.

Thanks for doing the research on this - the majority of us are in complete agreement.

I have no idea at all how we'll go next week. We have won the number of games we expected but in such a bizarre way.

We are liable to get pumped or run all over them.

Certainly not tipping us though.

Apologies but I hope we get thrashed
Any effort comparatively better than todays or the GWS or the Coll game shows that there is a culture of volunteerism about playing to win.

Cripps' "we're back" reinforces to me that he is not a captain's shoelace. Give the captaincy to Doc next year and let Cripps just get back to playing well

I know some may think that wishing Carlton loses is treason, but that's how I feel...The entire club needs to feel the heat over the summer

No matter what, the boys are employed to do their best next week.

Whether they do or don't is an unknown.
The trend suggests we are due for a 63 point defeat (here or there)

The team has a lot to play for.

No more games after this weekend for who knows how long.

You're only as good as your last game.

Docherty is a definite out. So 1 change

OBrien got a knock
Fisher shoulder

Under possible scrutiny

Bottom 6 in AFL Fantasy
Points and % Game Time

11 17% Docherty (calf)
23 61% Fisher (shoulder)
31 83% Williamson
36 67% OBrien (thigh)
41 84% McGovern
43 88% Betts

TDK was fantastic.
2 games in 5 days.
Might need a rest.
I hope not.

7 day break

I don't think Teague would go with 2 rucks plus Levi.

Will Pitto get in for the last round? Who knows.

Both ruckmen have served us well in Kreuzer's absense.
