The only way to find out what "heights" he can reach is to play him against Nic Nat, or, soon. So its still a possibility.
I think they have seen what Moore offered us in the last 2 rounds and last 3 years at Richmond.
Surely DeKoning replaces Moore as the ruck forward to avoid robbing Levi as a good target from the forward line.
I'm sure he will get his turn soon.
I can see him dominating down at Geelong.
Their ruck spot is open.
Then we have Fisher who can't get a game because Murphy has another year added to his contract.
He would do well on the dry grounds for Freo.
They must both be considering their options.
Its all about timing BS.
DeKoning and Fisher are both young with plenty ahead of them.
DeKoning aint going to Cats.
He's part of an amazing bunch of younguns who will continue to grow together.
Like many Carltonians anxious to fast forward the future, I just want to see him now.
That doesn't mean he's being neglected, ignored or pigeon holed.
I expect DeKoning to be No 1 ruck at Carlton in 2022.
If it is next year, great, but I think he will be a forward ruck and will overtake Kreuzer, Pittonet and Casboult.
He knows that and I bet the club has old him their vision.
I don't have a problem giving Murphy an extra year next year.
I do think we are short of experience and senior players the younguns can look up to and ask for advice.
I have no doubt Fisher will be ahead of Murphy next year.
If the transition from the old to the new doesn't happen this year, which may, it will happen next year.
What I find perplexing is that we don't even know what the size of the lists will be next year. nor the salary cap.
Hence why the extension hasn't been made public.
If there will be a reduction of 12 players next year, I can't see Murphy being one.
I see Simmo retiring this year, and Murphy coaching and playing a combo of reserves and senior footy.
I just want Murphy to find some form and consistency before they announce the extension because possibly 12 names will be cut from the list and a lot of them will be almost 10 years younger than Murph, so I'd like to think he earned it.
