Murph getting a scan as well

Cripps could have his head chopped off and like the Black Knight from Monty Python

I’m in no hurry to make changes for the sake of it, but I imagine Willo’s spot in the team will be looked at. He’s still young and he’s missed a lot of footy so I’m not hanging the guy, but I think it’s fair to say he wouldn’t be getting a game if Newman or Marchbank were fit. He looked sore last night too, so he might be the one to come out of the team if they want to bring in Fish or SOJ or LOB. Perhaps LOB could play that wing/defender role with Newnes spending more time in defence?

I like Willo and maybe they will persist with him. He just looks to me like one who hasn’t quite cemented his place yet and might be vulnerable if they want to bring fresh legs in this week.

I’m confused Willo was excellent

I didn’t see “excellent” but he did some good things. I thought he was caught out of position a couple of times. Looked sore too. If there’s no forced changes and if the club wants to bring in fresh legs (eg. Fisher, SOJ or LOB), Willo could be one they look at. Personally, I’m in no hurry to drop him. As we get better, players like Willo are going to be made to battle for their spot and will sometimes be unlucky.

Thought Willo was good on Sunday night. Was clean under pressure, defended well one on one, doesn’t back down to anyone and provided some drive off half back. He’s got a great kick on him too - can hit the tough 45 kicks but also can bomb it 60 metres when need be to clear the defensive 50.

His injury history has been a great shame. Came in all guns blazing in 2017 and appears to have picked up where he left off. Plenty of improvement left in his game but for a guy who has missed 2 years of footy, I think he’s going well.

IMHO we have some sore boys at the moment, so we need to be careful, especially if we are made to play multiple short turn around games, as discussed.
Crippa, Willo, Marc in particular look sore. The beauty is that Kennedy & Setterfield have shown they can take up some of the Crippa work. I would assume Fisher, O'Brien or Dow would come in to replace Marc, if needed.
Newman's loss hurts us, so Polson is the next person in line for Willo. We need to get Marchbank up and running asap. JSoS is another that might be ready to come back soon. Good depth though.

+1

Persist with Willo.

Saw a rumour on social meedya that Crippa has bulging disc in back and has been playing with jabs each week. If so rest him until he's right.

Willo has been good. I think unless injured his spot is safe.

Agree but as people have said he did look sore and with his history you don't want to risk him if there is doubt. JSOS, OBrien, Stocker. If Willow is sore.

Carlton FC
@CarltonFC
Patrick Cripps will be good to go on Sunday.

And there's a positive outlook on Paddy Dow, Marc Murphy, Jack Silvagni and Tom Williamson: the full injury update is now live.

Injury update:
Cripps is sore but expected to play. Russell seemed less bullish about Murphy. It depends how he pulls up. Willo is fine, JSOS is fine.
Dow will play in the match simulation this week. Marchbank isn't ready yet. Never a mention of Macreadie.
