One other con (and it comes from years of experience) - with the floating draw and us playing an attractive brand of footy compared to other 'big' clubs we are almost certainly going to get a couple of Friday night games in the near future.

Really liked that we learnt from the 4th quarter against Geelong. We wanted to attack and run the game out rather than just try to hold on. Thought Gov’s kick from the back flank into the middle, which set up a goal, early in the 4th really set the tone. Can’t ask for much more than learning from our past performances. A very mature finish to the game.

Great insight

Agree

Whilst I normally don't care what the media say, it is nice to get a positive article.

What then? Rage about how we're not consistent and the board has to go?

Ah now you reply
Tonight was terrific
You seem like a supporter that is narrow minded
Maybe your not and your just one eyed
Form fluctuations are week to week these days
Despite Docherty being tagged and Cripps having little influence we won convincingly
That’s the most pleasing part
Kennedy looks like he has lost 5 kg
Setterfield played well
Martin is class
McKay finally pulled his finger out
Things are looking up or are they

My message to you is don’t get carried away by one win
Despite this compromised season where you finish at the end of the 17 th game is a reasonable indicator
Of where you are at.
All I want against one of the better teams next week is a contest.

I agree we shouldn’t get carried away by a win, but it’s equally as important not to get carried away by a loss.

It’s almost been a smorgans board for them :yikes:

Just proves that the umpiring is irrelevant if we are good enough. We were tonight.

I don’t
More to the point have a look at the last 20 years
I have been on here for 15
Reading your posts it seems you’ve got some brains
The way footy is played( and at the moment it’s pretty crap overall COVID or no Covid) yo need a plethora of midfielders
Since winning the flag the dogs have been very inconsistent
They rely too much on the Bont and Libba is really there only inside mid with any grunt. Smith is pretty good.
That’s why are recent record against them has been so good
All I want is for Setterfield and Kennedy to compete against Boak Wines etc
Forgetting the personal issues for a minute Pittonet has been a good pickup
English is very soft
Again it will be a different story against Lycett

To say I get carried away too much by a loss is a tad strong

So what you're saying is: "don't get too high or too low"

Thanks Bolts ;-)

And to highlight your point
It’s not one loss
Has Kade Simpson got the dubious record of suffering the most losses.
I reckon you learn more from a loss than a win

Hopefully you learn different things from each.

The one thing we’ve most needed to learn over the last forever is that if we put in a four quarter effort we’ll win more than we lose.

More likely to learn that from a performance like last night.

That was exciting to watch...

A real team effort all around. Bring on Port next week!

Im sure when I came on here last week, the rebuild had failed and we were going no where fast.

The mighty Windies are back!!
A mate just texted me, the last time the Windies won a test series in England was 1995.
Get excited people.

Our very own TC MVP currently reads

1 Jack Martin
2 Patrick Cripps
3 Marc Pittonet
4 Eddie Betts / Jacob Weitering / Levi Casboult

3 of the top 6 made up of new recruits and we payed a grand total of FA for the lot of them. Hats off to the club and to SOS.

Doc is also sitting 8th who is essentially a new recruit

The other pleasing aspect was I wouldn't really say the bulldogs played shit. It was a good standard game against a good side & we were just better

The Dogs high possession handballing style fell apart in the wet slippery conditions. Thankfully we didn't have to play them at Marvel and they were without Naughton and Dunkley (Schache and Bruce were both poor).
Saying that I'm delighted with our 4qtr effort and everyone seemed to play a significant part except maybe Murph and Cunners. Next week against Port will be a real litmus test.

Our tacking, physicality, pressure and intent was great. Especially early. Dare say even a touch of mongrel. Special mention to Ed, outstanding. Bring that each game and play four quarters and we will be in every game up to our eyeballs.
