Just watching 7 news and the health authority said it's just one bit of spit is all it takes and more likely to catch the virus standing at a bar than sitting in a restaurant. What about tackling Saad with pressed faces? Spitting on the grass, then rolling in it, wiping your nose then handling a ball and passing it to a team mate, who does the same, spitting in hand for grip....spare me.

Drug cheating team is in someone's pocket or there's something really wrong going on in Victoria.

I'm in Melb on business and I'm keeping my distance and social distancing etc....I will not be surprised to see huge spike in Victoria and all states shut their borders to victoria.

Shock jocks are having a go at AFL and Victoria, and so are the quiet ones who think the AFL are odd with their rules and applying them....the same rules the rest of the country abides by.

AFL and ESS are playing Russian roulette with the other 17 teams in the comp.

Disgrace. This virus is killing people you idiots.

Enforce the rules. Training Pod should isolate for 14 days

I think we are a bit confused by the current rules. I heard the news when they said spitting could spread the virus. I was also surprised that those players didn't have to isolate too. We are told returned travelers have to quarantine for 14 days because this is how long the virus can incubate for yet others are told that they must isolate until the results of the test are known.
There are too many mixed messages coming from the authorities at the moment.
What if he has infected another Essendon* player and that player does not show any symptoms until say next Monday. They could be contagious on Saturday night when we play them, putting our players at risk.
It is quite depressing being a Victorian at the moment. We are possibly going into another strict lockdown with no end in sight at present.

Yep. The double standards are evident. It's either 2 weeks quarantine for everyone or it isn't.

Gutless decision to let the game go ahead.

I'd be guessing that Jaidyn Stephenson, Cam McCarthy and Dylan Robertson wouldn't be too keen to catch it at the very least.

Really glad this game is going ahead and glad they have a full team. Would be a bit meaningless to beat them with their whole backline out. I feel like we can build some momentum after last weeks performance and hopefully the confidence grows.

I really don’t rate Essendon* that highly. They scraped over the line against freo and Sydney, who are both bottom 6-8 teams in my book. If we play anywhere near what we did for the first 3 quarters against Geelong we’ll pants them.

Harry out is a shame. As much as he didn’t have a great game, I can’t remember the last time the forward line as a whole functioned that well. It really is a sum of the parts. And Harry’s leading patterns were a part of what was creating so much space and opportunity for everyone else. For this reason I’d be tempted to bring in TDK to try and replicate Harry‘a role in the same forward line. That said, I also understand the temptation to go smaller and faster. Really interested to see the teams tonight

Excited about Philp, I reckon his speed and tackling is a great inclusion for the fight against Essendon*’s run out of the back line.

Good on the kid for getting his first game but last week was the first time for a long tome our forward line was able to stretch an established back six.
I would have liked to see TDK gt a run in an attempt to duplicate the Hary factor. This week, Essendon* talls will have a choice of two unless Jack or Gov plays the Harry role as a leading tall.
I think w will see Hurley floating this week whereas with three talls on the spread inside fifty, he would have been more accountable.

I hope Philp has a blinder and I am forced to eat my words. I love being wrong when the boys get up.

Normally I would agree with this but I don't think this was that straight forward. TDK doesn't seem to be ready to play AFL right now.
I agree McKay's absence along with Charlie will be significant.

If we fall (or are forced) into long bombs inside 50, we might get torn up on the intercept/rebound.

Bringing Philp in may help negate the likes of Saad and McDonald-PlayingFooty. Cunners has wheels too... super quick over the first ten. Hope he's up for it.

Agree. The word is TDK looked short of a gallop and probably needs a couple more scratch matches to get his match fitness up.
Shame because I do agree with you BS but we can't afford to carry players who are lacking match fitness.

Has the pace and from what little I've seen of him, has a bit of aggression too which I like.
However, I'd like to see a first gamer play his natural game and not sacrifice it.
I know you aren't suggesting it, but was very disappointing to see a bloke like Walker have half his career wasted because they wanted him to learn to be more defensive and took as much of his natural out of his game as possible.
If Philp is earmarked for a lockdown job this week, that's fine as long as they don't force into that type of role week in week out.
