I lost count of the number of times Mackay didn't hold a mark he should have.

I would have switched him around with Casboult.

We should have won, rinse and repeat. So hard to tell where we are at.

If I had to guess, bottom 2

We should have won this game by 3-4 Goals easily if it wasn't for our usual Bad start...

Our biggest issue at the Club right now is the Bad Starts ( Regardless of the final score )

We need a set shot coach in the post COVID era to teach our players how to kick for goal. I knew as soon as I saw Cripps sprinting in to goal for a set shot he was going to miss. @#$%&! that ffs. It's not that hard.

Had opportunities to win
3 goals 5 in the last quarter typical enough to tease

Sick of losing sick of no mental toughness
Walsh and docherty very disappointing disposals

As David reminded me we haven’t won one of the first 2 games in the last 9
FFS give us something give us something different

Yep, seen this movie before. Give up a massive start, then get close and pat yourselves on the back for an honorable loss.

Sorry, but this is unacceptable.

Haven’t seen anybody pat ourselves on the back thankfully. Except maybe some PC commentators.

Docherty cost us in the last 2mins numerous times.

Doc was one of the few positives.

I'd offer McGovern an open clearance on that performance if it was allowed. Just shit.

Yeah Doc made a couple of rushed errors but he was great all day and put himself in great positions to win the ball when it counted before rushing his disposals. I am super happy to have him back.

Ability is one thing, attitude is another. Two games, a 50 and 42pts start to go down by small margins, especially today. Not good enough!

The last 20 years have taken their toll on me...at no stage did I think we would win.

Geez we had our chances in the last quarter though

Docherty was great but he and Walsh when we needed poise to win the game didn’t show any

We have enough players just going our better ones MUST impose themselves to win games

Another bottom 4 finish and another 3-0 start to another season

I didn't watch the game as I have no Foxtel...

The Scores were tided up at 53 each... Can someone please tell me how Melbourne got their final behind? and why didn't just hold the ball in our forward line? :(

Ok. I’m gonna say it. I’m gonna go there. Here we go.

It was a clear mark to Bolt who used his forearms to hold his position as Gawn came back on him. He never extended. Never pushed. We would have been back deep into 50 and they wouldn’t have scored.

There. I said it.

And by the way Doc punched the ground after the siren he agrees with you. As do I.

Wasn't a free against Mackay in the pocket either, but we still should have won regardless

Unacceptable start. Unacceptable goal kicking. Unacceptable lack of composure when the game was there for the taking. They don't know how to win. I fear what Geelong will do to us next week. Flat track bullies who are ruthless to shit teams.

I remember reading someone (Harmes?) say that under Jezza they were scared stiff of losing as they knew they would be flogged next week at training. There was times that they won games they shouldn't have because of this fear of the consequences of losing.

What happened in the late seventies of course has limited relevance now. But, I'm sitting here exasperated at yet another game which got away under too similar circumstances, something has to change. There is often but a small gain in effort required to turn losses into wins.
