Following on from Camelboy’s Team of the Decade post, here’s my team of single-gamers (1946 to 2019).

Ah, the memories.

FB: Gordon Casey (1968) Wayne Deledio (1975) Alex Hanton (1946)

HB: Ken Jungwirth (1967) Patrick McCarthy (2012) Tom Leehane (1948)

Mid: Trent Hoppner (1998) Sean Charles (1998) Jeremy Smith (1993)

HF: Scott Spalding (1993) Luke Mitchell (2012) Craig Devonport (1996)

FF: Robert Dutton (1981) Daryl Gilmore (1983) Noel Evans (1953)

Ruck : Stephen Easton (1982) Rhys Palmer (2017) Angus Schumacher (2019)

Res : Adam Chatfield (2000) Andrew Balkwill (1997) Sam Smart (1997) Peter Bevilacqua ( 1953)

Interesting that in the midst of a huge turnover of Carlton’s list, there have been only five one-match players so far this century; Chatfield, McCarthy, Mitchell, Palmer and Schumacher.

Four. Chatfield was last century.

Does Earl Spalding qualify for that one hit on Guy McKenna?

That hit was a beautiful moment in a year of beautiful moments.

Sadly, it probably indicates that we were struggling and players who should only have gotten one game were gifted entire seasons...

and wasn't Chatfield the only player out of a squillion to NOT have played with Craig Bradley??

Tarczon did it in ‘91, Spalding in ‘95.

And Spalding did it better - no disrespect to "Tarzan" 's effort which was a beauty.

Spaldings was the best bump I've seen. McKenna was still rotating when he hit the ground.

He's lucky he didn't hit the ground head-first or he'd have tunneled to China.
