Take Simmo and Daisy out of our team and we could almost play under-age footy.

Would like to see:

Murphy, Simpson, Kreuzer and Betts win a flag for Carlton in 2020.

If Levi sticks around, him too ...

They start the dynasty, and the start of the midfield bulls dynasty will be Cripps, Jack and Setterfield.

I'd like to see that.

We'd all like to see that, Bondi but your tequila bottle is half empty I am guessing.

No Tequila here BS.
I'm on the soft stuff, Mezcal, and have been since it got legalised in Oz back in 1979.

Not my bag but there are many here who prefer it over tequila.
Seeing as it is basically the same stuff distilled from the same plant, it can hardly be described as 'soft'.
I have seen it being made. They still use a donkey to pull a wheel around a trench full of agave pineapple and then they ferment it in a vat with a canvas cover over it and then distill it. I'm guessing that hasn't changed for centuries.
Well since the Saints won their last flag at least.

Quit it. You're making me thirsty.

My bottle is always half full especially since I boarded the Teague Train.

Papley Martin are expected to join Betts today along with maybe Nick Holman and another surprise.

Even without those additions, with a fully fit list and another preseason ahead of our young developing group under the watchful eye of Andrew Russell and inspiration of Teague, do your Best 22 and you too should have a Half Full Bottle. Go on...do it...then do one after todays trade, then do one after the PSD, and I bet you want to come back to Oz for the big games the Blues will play.

I used to think Richmond supporters were led along for years in the off season with promises of all sorts of success and then the inevitable crash.
Now we have Cain Liddle from that esteemed club and we also have NFI what is happening on the injury front with Harry and Charlie, two of our brightest stars and hopes for the short and long term futures.
Is this his way of making sure we get record membership on the back of last year's finish before announcing that,

'Unfortunately the injuries to Charlie and Harry have not responded as we would have hoped and they look like missing a protracted part of the season.'?

Would supporters decide to not re-sign based upon a couple of pre-season injuries? Pretty piss poor if that was the case.

Yeah, true that. But the injury status of those 2 is a bit of a concern.

Some interesting thoughts from Amos especially re Newnes more as a mid with stints in defence.

My expectations are to finish somewhere between 6 th and last.
So many permutations combinations and variables to consider
The draw is a consideration.
If you playing Melbourne twice last year you would have gone from being pissed off to elated as the season unfolded
How others teams go is a consideration
Sometimes you play a team that just isn’t on

Specifically I want to see improvement in the midfield depth
There was too much reliance on Cripps, Murphy, Curnow and Walsh

It dropped away considerably after that
A midfield that bats 4 deep won’t cut it
Cunningham Setterfield Dow O’ Brien Kennedy etc need to step up in 2020

Champion Data Ratings

Defenders 17th
Forwards 13th
Midfield 18th
Overall 17th

Doesn't look good if you believe champion Data

Our defence is far better than most believe.

To add to this they have also ranked North 2nd for midfielders and 6th best list overall, whilst Richmond's midfielders are ranked 7th. Port 3rd for defenders as well.

2020 Hopes:

Backline
Doc creating play and controlling things
Weitering becoming our dominant tall defender and being our leading intercept mark
Midfield
Cripps and Setterfield taking turns as the big bodied extractors
Cunners and Dow the Explosive break the lines midfielders (Currently have Fisher in ahead of Dow for Round 1, but long term I think Dow is more explosive)
Forwards
McKay dominant in the air and kicking straight
Martin elite disposal and run creating and delivering multiple goals and Betts providing the crumbing goals we have missed

All this and I think it is possible to make the 8 - although my current prediction is 10th

I think all lines will improve this year, but have the most hope for the midfield - Add in Murphy and Walsh as the accumulators, Ed as the tagger and feels a good mix

Fingers crossed for a cracking year!!
