Who are the available coaching replacements?

No training wheels (unless they find an alternative who is clearly good and will make instant positive changes).

Woosha?
Lyon?
B Scott?
Or...Sam Mitchell?

Make only ONE player the captain. What’s the argument for having multiple captains? I don’t understand?

Cripps is in pain (leg) but if we need a vice-captain then it’s Docherty.

Ask yourselves this...what is waiting till the end of the season going to achieve? The time for action is clearly now!

..yanno what, just play to our strengths.. ....play attacking, front running,, shoot out style footy.. ....we're so far off from trying to develop a premier ship winning gamelan that we should just ditch the idea of it, and just play break neck frenzied footy.. ....stop being so clever, we're not, and can't carry it off anyway..

..so stuff it, big wins or big losses, if we're going to go down in flames we might as well go down with our boots on..

Whilst I don't like a coach doing a Chris Scott in the box, it'd be nice at some stage to see some level of concern from our coach at this drivel that keeps getting served up. Because until we do, all we can assume is that he's fine with it.

Woosha stuck in quarantine instead of being in the box yesterday apparently.
Great bloody timing.

I agree with this bit bkb. Is there any danger we could put a bit more emphasis on paddling the ball forward in congestion, & soccering it forward when we are under pressure. I know that's very old school but we are not full of Greg Williamses & Michael Vosses. We have Michael Gibbons Matthew Cottrell Patrick Cripps etc as our ball users. The number of times we try to pick it up off the deck or go for one too many handballs in a chain is just infuriating. Understand your limits & just barge the ball forward FFS...it might be dumbing the game plan down a bit but another team just did the same thing & won 3 premierships from it.

We'd be a better side if we simplified things. We've got Harry to get the ball to. We've got Jones & Weiters solid down back. Pretty much the rest could just play as a manic swarm. Surely that can't be such an insanely difficult concept to coach into them.

Correct.

Look, I say it time and time again. Footy and sport and many things in life is 90% above the shoulders.

Pagan got this point right. Shrinks, coaches whoever it is. Learn to train your mind and anything can happen!

I'd love to sit in on training and strategy meetings for a week to see what they identify and work on. All season we have struggled to fill the leading lanes of the opposition forwards. Even in slow plays our mids are getting back reasonably but not positioning ourselves to chop off the leads. No surprise the defenders are getting agitated with the lack of assistance.
The opposition have no problems obstructing our leading lanes but we're not learning the lessons.

I give credit to the coaches for mixing things up after a horrible second quarter. Williams into a 3 way rotation off half back looked more settled. Wing/midfield/ H/F rotation worked reasonably. Docherty even started the quarter on the wing (But it didn't last long)
Cuningham only had about 20 possessions (I doubt he'll ever be a consistent high possession winner) but he certainly gave us spark around the stoppages. We're light on for good ball users with pace and he definitely gave us something we've lacked.

It was a disappointing loss but as much as some wont want to hear it, our effort and pressure was reasonable, we're just light on for class. Put Charlie, Fisher, DeKoning, ,JSOS, Martin and Newman into that 22 and we win the game comfortably IMHO.
Brisbane are close to full strength and it just confirms that we need a decent run with injuries to compete with the better sides.
Eddie and Newnes may get a run in the VFL after yesterdays effort which will give an opportunity to others. We need to get better ball users into the 22. Turnovers are killing us. Plus, tell the players to wear long @#$%&! stops. The slipping over is killing me.

The butchers of Baghdad need to go. Give me class and quality users over anything else. Enough DT.

BS.

More pressing problems then players’ foot skills.

It happens week in week out.

Williamson did the coaches head in when that was his role as the extra in defense vs Tigers, Pies and Port, and they demoted him.
Last night he wasn't playing and it happened again. Too easy.

Team defense must be sorted and sorted soon.

Despite all the injuries, we are not getting smashed.
I feel every loss we gifted the game to the opposition.

Fixable

Totally agree.

I read TC before watching the game for the first time.
FMD talk about exaggeration and an emotional avalanche.

The effort was there, so were the turnovers.

Pitto was awful to watch TBH. I know he's the best we've got but.....not much class.
